.1 ALL BRANCH CIRCUIT PANELBOARDS SHALL BE BY A SINGLE MANUFACTURER.

1.3 REFERENCE DOCUMENTS

.1 CSA C22.2 NO 29-M1989, PANELBOARDS AND ENCLOSED PANELBOARD.

1.4 PRODUCT DATA

.1 COMPLY WITH REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 16010.

.2 Provide manufacturer's product data for all components.

.3 Provide data on manufacturer's recommended environmental conditions for equipment affected by temperature.

2.1 PANELBOARDS

.1 PANELBOARDS:  TO CSA C22.2 NO 29-M1989 AND AS FOLLOWS:

.1 Bus Characteristics:

.1 Construction:  rectangular section [copper] [aluminum] [silver] [tin] plated joints.

.2 Bracing:  [10,000] [      ] Amperes symmetrical.

.3 Neutral:  full capacity, solid neutral design.

.4 Ground bus:  copper

.2 Enclosure:

.1 Flush mounted:  galvanized sheet steel.

.2 Surface mounted:  prefinished, painted sheet steel.

.3 [Drip cover.]

SPEC NOTE:  Specify drip cover only when branch circuit panelboards are surface mounted and exposed to sprinkler discharge.

.3 Trim:

.1 [Door-On-Door Construction] [Screw-on], concealed hinges and mounting screws, hinged locking door and flush catch, [2] [   ] keys per panel.

.1 Isolated Ground Bus:  copper, isolated in total from panel neutral and enclosure, complete with lugs to accept No. [3] [   ] main ground and [20] [    ] No. [10] [12] branch ground conductors.

2.3 PANELBOARDS WITH CONTACTOR IN MAINS

.1 PANELBOARDS WITH CONTACTORS IN MAINS:  AS SPECIFIED UNDER "PANELBOARDS" WITH THE FOLLOWING ADDITIONAL FEATURES:

.1 Contactor:  as specified in Section 16423.

.2 Enclosure:  Custom built EEMAC 1 with the following:

.1 Separate compartment for panelboard.

.2 Separate compartment for contactor.

.3 Barriered wireway on each side.

.4 Common trim with [one] [two] hinged locking doors, [one over breaker section] [and one over contactor section].

.3 Pilot light(s):  [red] [green] [incandescent] [neon] type, [120] [    ] volt, mounted in contactor enclosure door, illuminated when contactor is energized.

.4 Control switch:  heavy duty oil tight type with operating feature:

.1 Main Breaker:  as specified in Section 16443, mounted in separate barriered compartment, CSA approved for service entrance application.

3. Execution

3.1 INSTALLATION

.1 INSTALL PANELBOARDS SECURELY, PLUMB AND SQUARE TO ADJOINING SURFACES.

.2 Install panelboards flush or surface as indicated.

.3 Mount panelboards at [1800] [     ] mm to top of trim.

.4 Connect loads to circuits as indicated.

.5 Number of breakers, and sizes specified in Schedules.

.6 Install two spare 20 mm conduits stubbed up into ceiling space for flush panelboards only.

3.2 SCHEDULES

SPEC NOTE:  INCORPORATE BRANCH CIRCUIT PANELBOARD SCHEDULES AS PART OF THIS SECTION. ALTERNATIVELY, SCHEDULES MAY BE INCORPORATED ON DRAWINGS.

SPEC NOTE:  Number Branch Circuit Panelboard Schedules sequentially starting with the highest voltage in system and working down. Refer to Data Sheets for sample schedules.
