1.0 GENERAL INFORMATION

1. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This device contains the necessary I.S. barriers and power supply needed for operation in a zone 2 environment.

The use of this equipment along with the proper sensors and power source makes the AMS4A095 Slickline Hoistman’s Touch Screen Panel panel safe for use in a hazardous area.

1.2 ATEX STANDARDS & REQUIREMENTS

INTENDED USE OF EQUIPMENT

The FSU1A196 Barrier Box is intended to provide a protected mounting enclosure for I.S. barriers and power supply. The enclosure protects the barriers from the environment to assure that they will function to specification.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Warnings:

o The apparatus is ATEX CAT3, only to be installed in Hazardous Area Zones 2.

o The installer is to ensure that the equipment is located in areas that are known not to have an adverse affect on the housing material.

o Do not modify the enclosure as this will compromise the apparatus certificate.

Hazardous Area Installation Standards & Requirements:

The installer should refer to the latest edition of the following standards before operating in a Hazardous Area:

EN 1127-1 Explosive Atmospheres - Explosion prevention and protection, basic concepts and methodology.

EN 60079-14 Electrical apparatus for explosive gas atmospheres

Part 14:Electrical installations in hazardous areas (other than mines)

EN 60079-17 Electrical apparatus for explosive gas atmospheres –

Part 17:Inspection and maintenance of electrical installations in hazardous areas (other than mines)

1.5 HAZARDOUS AREA PREPARATION AND INSTALLATION

This equipment is to be installed only by suitably trained and qualified personnel to local national codes.

1. Provide four mounting holes to bolt each of the four mounting tabs located near each of the four corners. The top holes (slotted tabs) should accept a 3/8” (9 mm) bolt and the bottom holes should be ¼” (6 mm) bolt.

2. Mount the box and secure it with the bolts.

3. Open the lid using the Key provided with the enclosure.

4. Verify the power source:

Input voltage range 85 – 132/187 – 264 VAC

Input frequency 47 to 63 HZ.

Harmonic limits EN 61000-3-2, Class A (for limited output power)

Holdup time 20 ms min. (full load 115/230 VAC)

Inrush current < 13 A (115 VAC) < 25 A (230 VAC)

5. Verify that the mains supply provided by the customer includes a suitable circuit breaker. Recommended circuit breaker, – TSP 070/090 6.0 Acharacteristic C – TSP 140/180 6.0 A

6. Insert power cable into box through appropriate cable gland such as HAWKE 501/414/M20/M20 or equivalent.

7. Connect Electrical Power

Connect a cable from the power source through the power input gland to the terminal block on the power din rail mounted power supply.

8. CONNECT INPUT SIGNAL CABLES

Connect the cables from the measuring head to the load pin in and encoder in connectors on the box.

6. CONNECT OUTPUT SIGNAL CABLES

Connect the INT2 and EXT cables from the AMS4A095 Computer Panel to the INT2 and EXT connectors on the box.

Connect the Shutdown Relay cable from the box to the Hoist Shutdown valve.

1.6 ASSEMBLY AND DISMANTLING

During normal operations, this equipment requires no additional assembly or dismantling in addition to the information provided in section 1.5 (Preparation & Installation).

1.7 MAINTENANCE

If the equipment is used in a manner not specified by the manufacturer, the protection by the equipment may be impaired.

The equipment is restricted breathing apparatus and the restricted breathing properties of the enclosure shall be measured as dictated in EN60079-17. The test shall be conducted in accordance with Clause 33.7.1 of EN60079-15:2005.

To verify that the box has maintained its seal and developed no leaks, it should be periodically tested by pulling a vacuum on it. A Restricted Breathing Test Point is installed (shown below) to provide a means to perform this test.
