Examination Reforms:

The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Anantapur is striving relentlessly for infallible conduct of examinations and evaluation of answer scripts.

• The University has an innovative system for transfer of question papers to the examination centers one hour before the start of the examination. The system is called Electronic Distribution of Examination question Papers abbreviated as EDEP system. The system has sound security features for encryption at the examination branch and decryption at the examination centers to make the entire system tamper free. The system has ensured that there is absolute confidentiality of the question papers. The transfer of papers to colleges has become absolutely leak proof.

• The examination branch has two servers for its examination related activities. They host the examination portal and result portal. An additional IBM server has been added during the academic year 2011–12 for storage and processing of students’ database. One colour and two monochrome fast printers have been procured in addition to the existing two fast printers for enhancing the printing rate. A total of sixty computers have been added to the computer sections for data entry and other result processing related works. For the past one year all major examinations related works have been carried out with in-house capabilities only.

• The final semester results of B.Tech and B.Pharm were declared accurately in a very short period without any discrepancies. The marks memos, provisional certificates and consolidated marks memos were dispatched to the respective colleges within two weeks from the date of declaration of the final year results.

• The University has successfully conducted Pre Ph.D supplementary examinations in Dec 2011 and June 2012 and results were declared immediately.

• The University in November for the first time has implemented the jumbling of examination centers for the PG examinations successfully.

• Advanced Supplementary Examinations for Pharma.D have been introduced this year for the first time.

• In order to help the students in processing various documents like transcripts, Provisional Certificates, Consolidated marks memos etc., a student helpline centre is recently established.

• The University has positive and responsible approach towards physically challenged students and has exempted them from payment of examination fee. Pass marks in each subject has been reduced by 10%, for orthopedically handicapped students who cannot use their hands freely for writing. Wherever necessary, assistance of a scribe is provided and maximum time of the examination is extended by 30 minutes. During the academic year 2011-12, seven such students from the various affiliated and constituent colleges have been benefited.

• Presently work is in progress for a new result portal and the portal will be ready shortly giving quick access to the results by the students of the University.
