At an age where students are still developing their social skills and making mistakes along the way, it is concerning the publicity and the permanence those mistakes can have when they are broadcasted on social networks. For this reason, parent guidance and involvement is essential and requires us to be well-educated on the technology in our kids’ hands. At Betty Gilbert, we are committed to helping families walk through this confusing and challenging season of mass media and have begun providing resources on our website that helps parents monitor and guide their kids. These resources be found at bgms.sd35.bc.ca and updates will be posted to Twitter @bgmsraptors00Social Media AwarenessIt has become increasingly evident that students, at all ages, are developing an online presence in social media.
