13 Reasons Why (stylized on screen as Th1Rteen R3ASONS Why) is an American Teen Drama Web Television series developed for Netflix by Brian Yorkey, based on the 2007 novel Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher. The series revolves around 17-year-old high school student Clay Jensen and his late friend Hannah Baker (before Season 3), who kills himself after facing a culture of gossip and sexual assault at his high school and a lack of support from his friends and school. A box of cassette tapes recorded by Hannah in the weeks leading up to her suicide detailing thirteen reasons why she chose to end her life. He portrays suicide very unrealistically. It makes a drama part of a serious problem and teaches that you make people who hurt you feel bad. Besides, it doesn't work as a serious portrait of suicide. If something, the show promotes it, paints it in romantic colors, makes it sound like a good option, and one that can be considered if your life is not going well. It makes your life a normal thing to do when it couldn't be further from the truth. Hannah Baker, the character who commits suicide, is an extremely unlikely character, to the point where the viewer doesn't even feel for her. It is known to be selfish, titled and humiliating. He abuses the clay, the main protagonist, pushes it constantly and doesn't even apologize. Worse still, the clay did nothing wrong. All she wanted to do was make the people who made her commit suicide feel bad by including their names on the tapes. There are also some more unlikely characters, such as Bryce, Monty, Marcus, Seth and Coach Rick. Hannah Baker records 13 tapes and leaves them behind to be heard after she's gone. So it becomes the voice-over for all events that happen after you kill. In fact, make sure you can kill yourself and then be around watching the consequences and people's response to your decision. Hannah kills herself to teach some people a lesson. That they were mean to her and they weren't around when she needed them. "You haven't been nice to me, now I've killed myself and left you these tapes detailing how bad a person you are is. You live with that guilt now. I'm out of here!" Very graphic, disturbing, and even trigger scenes that wouldn't seem out of place in an exploitation movie. So much so that Netflix had to release the warnings triggered before the beginning of some episodes: the representation of how Hannah kills is graphic, raw and very messy. It is shown in fantastic details. It's also a great 101 on how to get it right and not screw it. Blood gushing, what way to cut, how much water in the bathtub all presented as what is a video "how" about suicide to follow. So, in other words (as mentioned above), the show is practically encouraging suicide. The infamous scene of the violence of the bath in season 2. Netflix responded in 2019 by cutting the suicide scene from the first season, but it was too muchToo late: the show had already done the damage. What is even worse is that the aforementioned suicide scene is still intact. The story is about teenagers and school life ? the ups and downs, the fun, the dates, the attractions, the challenges, the stings and the suicides. Teenagers are emotional, and those who experience suicidal thoughts because of pressure and immaturity. Netflix has had the cast creating a PSA equal to the "viewer discretion is advised" Warning before some TV shows, but since it was made "After" released the third season, it is a failed attempt at damage control. Hannah is shown to have some important challenges and problems. But she is responsible for most of them because of her seriously bad life choices. Over and over. Pretty much like any teenager. Showrunners present suicide as a good answer when life's challenges seem to overwhelm you. No lessons on how to overcome challenges, or why making a negative decision every single time can lead to bad situations. Besides, Hannah has great parents, too. Involved and comforting, they are always there for her and take an active part in her life. Same for some friends and also a great school counselor. But the plot conveniently ignores them when necessary. So when she kills herself, she is convinced that she has none, clearly forgetting her parents. Hannah records on cassette tape and the main reasons why Hannah loses is entirely related to technology and social media. The first trigger is an image (not very beautiful) taken of her and shared in instant messaging with the whole school, followed by a greater pettiness echoed through social networks. They show technology as the villain without giving lessons on how to handle social media when it turns against you. The other 3 seasons were very useless and not faithful to the novel. Because of these other seasons, the show did not have a real realization to it and the title became useless. Clay's visions of Hannah in Season 2 are ridiculous and supernatural compared to the rest of the show. Unless clay can have schizophrenia. The show is taken too seriously and has a very arrogant atmosphere to it. It's like, "Look at us! Let's talk about suicide and mental health issues! We're so cool and awake! Look at us or something!" The 3rd season is much worse. Introduces a new character / narrator named Ani, which is completely useless to the plot, and the season kills infamous Bryce. The season is also full of filling and only there just to lengthen the series. Even Ani is an absolutely annoying know-it, everything as if he could read the minds of the characters or is God himself. It makes all the characters look like their other who support characters and who is the main protagonist of the series. You could remove it from the show, and it wouldn't affect the plot, even the slightest. She was never around for the first two seasons and still acts like she knows everything and everyone. She also had sex with Bryce even though she knew he was a and raped Jessica. It also changes genres from the drama to the mystery with the death of Bryce Walker and the characters who try to find out who killed him, and does not even speak of suicide. At all. Not even Hannah is mentioned. Because of all these qualities, the season is completely unfaithful to the book on which the show is based. This season tries to paint Bryce how, take this, a good boy. Yeah, Bryce himself who threatened a child this season, was raped Hannah, killed someone, and is partially responsible for Hannah's suicide. They are trying to paint him like a good person. The grand finale was terrible. Good job. Decent acting on some of the characters. The soundtracks were good, including "Bored" by Billie Eilish, who is starting his career at that time, the cover of Selena Gomez of "Only You" by Yazoo, "Back to You", and "Mess Is Mine" of Vance Joy. The first season is actually good and a lot better than 2nd, 3rd, and 4th and manages to remain faithful to the novel, even if this does not say much from that season it is very defective too. Zach, Jessica, Mr. Porter and the parents of Hannah are the only characters. Also, Winston Williams (which debuted in season 3), is also a nice character. While the first season was well received, the second, the third and fourth season had a very negative reception and had very negative reviews by the public, critics and fans, despite the 7.5 / 10 IMDB rating. On Rotten Tomatoes, the show has a bad score of Anavar by 35%. The show generated the "13 reasons why" meme comment. After the release of Netflix of 13 Reasons Why in 2017, many mental health experts, suicide prevention and education around the world have expressed a common concern about the graphic content of the series and the representation of difficult problems facing young people. Resources and tools to deal with these concerns were quickly and widely widespread in an attempt to help parents, educators, clinical professionals and other adults to dialogue with young people on the themes found in the show. In advance of the release of season 2, Save (Suicide Awareness Voices of Education) brought together a group of 75 experts in mental health, suicide prevention and education, as well as healthcare professionals (see full list below) to develop tools to help to encourage positive answers to the series. In a few months, this group has developed a toolkit that provides reliable practical indications and resources for parents, educators, doctors, young and media relating to the content of the series (suicide, school violence, sexual aggression, bullying, substance abuse, etc.) . Using the toolkit and developed resources help to encourage conversations, identify those at risk and prevent tragedies We hope, you will also help those who need to get the appropriate level of support and professional assistance to ensure that young people are protected, nourished and our communities are stronger.
