Aug 05, 2014 · The service factor of an ac motor is a multiplier which, when applied to the rated horsepower, indicates a permissible horsepower loading that may be carried under the conditions specified for the service factor. A service factor of 1.0 is the same as the nameplate rating. Refer to NEMA MG 1--2011 Section 1, 1.42 and 14.37 for standard conditions. ................
