The AutoEvangelist EditionLooking to save a slew ofLost Automotive SoulsThis edition of "Recent Finds" includes 16 new finds, most of which are pretty rough but most of those are savable.Read on to see what is now, newly available.I think these cars would appeal to customizers (Richard Rawlings, are you reading this..?) father/son teams looking for a project, masochists... Whoever,I knowTHEY CAN BE SAVED!!?I was given a lead on a stash of "old cars" sitting in a barn/steel building. I followed up and made the connection. I showed up and was met by an elderly man who proceeded to tell me most of his impressive life story including serving in the Isreali army at 17 and? moving to the US in his early 20's with only $5 in his pocket... Within 10 years, he had built a thriving egg empire, delivering eggs to area markets. His first "nice" purchase was a 1951 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. A couple years later he purchased a 47 Cadillac Fleetwood sedan. His last classic purchase was a 1936 Chevy pick up truck to advertise his eggs and make small, local deliveries. His son usually drove this truck and often used it for high school celebrations and local parades. He also purchased Mercedes-Benz as his primary drivers, usually one for the family and one for he and his wife. The most recent set that he parked about 5-7 years ago is a 1985 500SEL in medium blue metallic over grey leather and a matching 500SEC. They are both in very nice condition.?? The plan is to drag each of these out of the garage in the next few weeks and get them cleaned up and maybe even turned over/started. He believes the last time either of the Caddies or the Chevy were on the road was mid 90's... More... Coming soon...You all may recall reading in the last update that I had stumbled upon a car hoard of Cadillacs and T-Birds.I was finally able to get a few hours to head down and go over each of the 11-13 vehicles that are now available.?The first is 1951 REO M108 Crane Truck (Military issue). Runs and drives and the crane even works. There is a military unit modified (not produced officially by the Gov't) 1965 M151A1 Auxiliary Power Unit MUTT Rough but restorable. There are 6 Thunderbirds (5 convertibles, 1 Landau HT), 2 1964's, 1 1966 and 3 1965's. One is nearly drivable, needs some deep cleaning, change out fluids, check safety items such as brakes, replace tires and battery. 2 are parts cars and 3 are restorable. The tow company owner says he can scrap them all and make about $500 each. Of course, he'll have to drag them onto flat beds and bring them to the scrapper. Buy one, buy em all or just a couple. He's willing to deal.THESE SOULS CAN BE SAVED!!Then there are the three Cadillacs. 1959 Series 62 Sedan, pretty solid considering. 1961 Series 62 sedan, and aside from missing the front clip,? better condition than the 59. Interiors on both are nearly non-existent. Then there is the biggest shame... a 1961 bubble top, Series 62 Coupe. The glass is all in very good shape... true Flintstone rig though. Very rusty.Lastly, entrapped in a massive grape vine, a 1954 (believed) GMC M211 flatbed deuce and a half and up in its bed, a 1971-72 VW Superbeetle convertible.Click on any of the photos above to get to the full stories and pricing. If only it was as easy as smacking these wondeful cars on the hood and sayingYOU'RE HEALED!1962 Ford Galaxie 500 SunlinerPRICE REDUCEDThe sellers may be seeing the wisdom of my ways...more than $4000 lower priced.Great Cruiser, Super Comfy and Great Sound.
