FLU VACCINATIONS

We are now booking appointments for flu vaccinations. If you are over 65 or have a long term chronic condition, eg asthma, COPD, heart disease, chronic kidney disease, are diabetic or you are a carer, please book an appointment at the reception.

FLU VACCINATIONS FOR 2 & 3 YEAR OLDS

This year all 2 & 3 year olds with a date of birth between 01/09/2013 - 31/08/2015 are being offered the nasal vaccination for influenza. If your child falls into this category please make an appointment in October.

SHINGLES

You will be eligible for a shingles vaccination on your 70th or 78th birthday (not the years in between). If you decide you want a shingles vaccination please make an appointment at the reception.

MENINGITIS VACCINATIONS

If you were born between the 1/9/1998-31/8/1999 you are now eligible for a Meningitis ACWY Vaccination. This is a catch up programme which you would normally receive at school. If you are in this group please ask at the reception to make an appointment with the nurse for this vaccination.

VACCINATION SHORTAGE

There is a national shortage of Hepatitis A and B vaccines for the foreseeable future. Therefore it may not be possible to vaccinate you if we do not have any in stock.

CHANGES TO BABY VACCINATIONS

As of 1st August 2017 the baby vaccination schedule will now include Hepatitis B in the 8, 12 and 16 week vaccinations. Hepatitis B vaccinations have been provided to infants at a high risk of developing the infection from infected mothers since the 1980s. The vaccine has now been added to the baby vaccination schedule as a routine immunisation so that all children can benefit from protection from this virus.
