Math Syllabus

Grading Policy:

• Your letter grade is based on tests, quizzes, homework, and class preparation. Your EFFORT grade is based on class participation and behavior.

Materials: To be prepared for class you need to bring:

• Your textbook or worksheets

• A pencil

• Math Notebook- Which contains your notes, homework, worksheets and an up to date grade sheet.

Homework & Preparation Bonus: You have the opportunity to earn 2% that will be added to each semester grade. To be eligible for the bonus you can only miss 3 homework assignments or be unprepared.

• I will check homework periodically throughout the year. Do not put just answers.  I want to see the problem, attempts at solving, or completion.

• If there are just answers, it is considered INCOMPLETE. All homework must be in class with you to receive credit. If you miss a day in class it is your responsibility to show me your completed homework on the next day.

• To be considered prepared you must have your textbook, Math notebook, and any worksheets or review sheets that we will be working on in class. This means you will need to check the assignment sheet every day.

Test Policy:

• If you are absent the day of a test you are required to make it up the day you come back. You must speak with me the day you come back if you want an extension otherwise your grade will be lowered.

• If you are absent for the review day, you are responsible to come in to see me for help and to take the scheduled test, unless it is on the next day.

• If you have 3 tests on one day you must tell me the day I assign the test.

Missed Class Policy: If you miss a lecture, you must get the notes from a PEER, before you come in for extra help. My Free Periods are 2,4,5 and Conference Period.

Good Luck and have a wonderful year!!!
