We have found this workbook to meet our needs for supplementary materials. I'm not sure if all the readings are 3rd grade appropriate but the challenges are sometimes healthy and necessary. My daughter found the very first page to be loaded with higher grade vocabulary, and was clearly intimidated. After that, though, she began to enjoy the readings and related exercises.I'd recommend it, yes.

My daughter was having difficulty with specific skills in reading comprehension, especially with regard to identifying the main idea and key details, and with recounting the events of a story. I do not think this helped her to get to grade level expectations. The answers were already there, except for a fill in the blank, or a numbered list. It did not teach or reinforce specific reading skills that could be carried over to other assignments, like underlining key ideas, rechecking details, or underlining time words. You have to figure that out yourself. This might be a fun review for a child who already

is doing ok with comprehension, but not so great if you are a parent trying to figure out how to help a child who is struggling. My personal feel for the reading level is that the sentence structure and vocabulary are 3rd grade appropriate, but the exercises are too easy.

I have enjoyed this comprehension book. Mystudents have enjoyed the information in thestories. I would recommend this for onlevel second grade above level secondgrade or on level third grade students.

My son was having trouble with Reading Comprehension...so this book really helped him I suggest this book to all parents to help their children.

these books can fast and are just what I needed to help my granddaughter at home. They are new and her teacher loves that she also has a book at home to help with her school grade.

My son was having trouble in social studies, so his teacher recommended getting one of these to help him improve his reading skills. Definitely helped!

This is a book I buy every summer for my daughter to do. She loves this book. I usually have to tell her to do only a few pages a day or she would try to do the whole book in one shot...she lives it that much.

We bought this for our 3rd grader who seemed to be struggling with reading comprehension. I was really impressed by this workbook. First of all, it is not super thick. It's pretty thin which is good for my son, with a total of 38 pages. He see's the big books and feels overwhelmed. Each day he does a new reading comprehension activity. The activities vary from reading a paragraph and answering the questions by referencing the paragraph, multiple chose, picture order according to the story and fact and opinion pages. Each activity is a page (on average) so it's easy to pull one of the perforated pages out and have them do it really quick. I am pleased that the activities very because it gives him all the different examples of how you use reading comprehension.
