GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF MOWING PROJECTIn order to provide a safe and cost efficient plan for the city of Augusta we have mapped out three separate plans. We have taken traffic and population into account. The following will explain the different plans for the 5 miles of median and sidings on Route 24, 10 acres of Willoughby Park, and 23 acres at Augusta Memorial Golf Course. ROUTE 24We have carefully analyzed the 5 miles of median and sidings. We have determined that the strips of grass are very long with few obstacles. Traffic is very heavy through the week but not on the weekend. Using this analysis we have came up with the following plan:We will schedule a weekly safety check of the area on Saturday morning between 8 A.M. and 10 A.M. The safety crew will inspect the area for debris and any unmapped obstacles. The safety crew will also set out warning signs for the public. We will schedule a weekly mowing on Saturday between the hours of 10 A.M. and 6 P.M. (or until the job is finished if problems occur). We will be using two John Deere 5625 Utility Tractors with two John Deere MX8 Rotary Cutters. The equipment will be delivered using two of our Ford F-450 Super Duty Trucks and two of our Fastline Trailers. (see figure 1)We will start at separate ends of the 5 mile strip and work towards the middle. We will be working on Saturday in order to provide better safety due to the lack of traffic on the weekend. The job will require:2 Tractors2 Mowers2 Trucks2 TrailersWe will use the stated equipment, 1 manager, 4 workers, and 10 labor hours to complete this project.WILLOUGHBY PARKWe have carefully analyzed the Willoughby Park area. We have determined that the park is heavily populated Thursday through Sunday. However, we have determined that the park is lightly populated Monday through Wednesday. We have also determined that there are several obstacles at the park. These obstacles include vegetation, playground equipment, and lakes. Using this analysis we have come up with the following plan:We will schedule a weekly safety check over the area on Monday and Tuesday mornings between 8 A.M. and 10 A.M. The safety crew will inspect the area for debris, map out where any park-goers are, and place warning signs throughout the most populated areas of the park. We will schedule a weekly mowing on Monday and Tuesday between the hours of 10 A.M. and 6 P.M. We will be using two John Deere 5625 Utility Tractors with two John Deere MX8 Rotary Cutters. The equipment will be delivered to the site using two of our Ford F-450 Super Duty Trucks and two of our Fastline Trailers. (see figure 1)We will mow using a specifically planned map that circles the park from the outside to the middle. We will mow on Monday and Tuesday. These days are the least populated days for park activity. We will continue to mow using the same times and plans on Wednesday and Thursday if delays such as rain or park events occur. The job will require:2 Tractors2 Mowers2 Trucks2 TrailersWe will use the stated equipment, 1 manager, 4 workers, and 20 labor hours to complete this project.AUGUSTA MEMORIAL GOLF COURSEWe have carefully analyzed the Augusta Memorial Golf Course area. We have determined that the park is heavily populated Thursday through Sunday. However, the park is lightly populated Monday through Wednesday. We have also determined that there are several obstacles on site. These obstacles include vegetation, sand-traps, rivers and lakes. Using this analysis we have came up with the following plan:We will schedule a weekly safety check of the area on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings between 8 A.M. and 10 A.M. The safety crew will inspect the area for debris, check for stray golf balls, and place warning signs in front of the clubhouse as well as at the first tee-box. We will schedule a weekly mowing on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday between the hours of 10 A.M. and 6 P.M. We will be using two John Deere 5625 Utility Tractors with two John Deere MX8 Rotary Cutters. The equipment will be delivered to the site using two of our Ford F-450 Super Duty Trucks and two of our Fastline Trailers. (see figure 1)We will mow the course three sections at a time in order to accommodate golfers. The sections will be listed on the warning signs. The sections are divided into thirds throughout the course and are as follows:Holes 1-6Holes 7-12Holes 13-18We will mow on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday as they are the least populated days for golf course activity. We will continue to mow using the same times and plans on Thursday if delays such as rain occur. The job will require:2 Tractors2 Mowers2 Trucks2 TrailersWe will use the stated equipment, 1 manager, 4 workers, and 30 labor hours to complete this project.II.
