Energia, a sure bet for Celtic Bookmakers

Energia helps Brown Bag Films go Green

19 May 2015 – Award-winning animation studio Brown Bag Films are going green thanks to a new renewable energy deal with competitive energy provider Energia. Energia will be providing 100% “green” energy to power Brown Bag Films’ Irish studios in Smithfield Market.

Energia’s operational windfarm portfolio, which combines power from Energia’s windfarms and power from third party windfarms contracted to Energia under power purchase agreements, currently supplies 795MWs of green power. This will increase by a further 300MWs of ‘green’ power by a number of wind farm facilities that are currently in development.

John Kennon, Technical Program Manager, Brown Bag Films commented, “At Brown Bag Films, we are determined that producing high quality animation for children should not leave a carbon burden for them to deal with as adults. Being conscientious about our impact on the environment is as important as creating fantastic animation. As part of our ongoing ‘Green Bag’ initiative, we have set ourselves the goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2017 and we believe this partnership with Energia is a vital first step.”

Karen O’Brien, Key Account Manager, Energia, said, “The popularity of Energia’s 100% renewable “green” energy with businesses is constantly growing. We are always delighted to be able to play a part in our customers’ efforts to reduce their environmental impact.”

“We are strongly focussed on supporting Ireland’s small businesses through offering competitively priced gas and electricity along with unbeatable customer service and energy expertise.”

Energia has a 23% market share of the Irish business electricity and gas market supplying the energy needs of over 60,000 business customers. In addition to renewable assets, the company also operates a 750MW gas fired power station in north Dublin.

Energia is also powering Irish homes nationwide in the residential electricity and gas market. Energia’s dual fuel offer will guarantee consumers savings of up to 15% off standard rates.

Energia has offices in Dublin, Galway, Cork, Belfast and Omagh
