You will be creating your own political party. You will need to come up with several intriguing, influential, and eye catching slogans, mascots, phrases, platforms, etc in order to achieve as many votes and governmental positions as possible.

Directions: You will be given a poster board. Using the required elements at the bottom of the directions. Use the ENTIRE poster board to display your ideas, drawings, etc.

Be creative and colorful with all aspects of your poster.

1. Give your party a name.

2. Draw a picture of your party’s mascot. On the back of the poster or on a separate paper, write a paragraph (2-3 bullet points) about why you chose this mascot, and how it applies to your party.

3. Create a slogan for your party. It is for the entire party, not just for the 2016 election.

4. Your party should have a nickname, give it one

5. Select a city for your party headquarters to be located. (Elberton)

6. Select a color for your party for the electoral college map. Give an example of it by drawing a state and coloring it your color. (See example)

7. Write on the Poster at least 5 issues (planks) that your party has on its platform. On the back of poster or the separate paper, write a paragraph (4-5 bullet points) about EACH of the planks. Why are they important? How would you go about making them into programs? What are the specifics of the planks?

8. On the poster, state who your Presidential candidate will be for the 2016 Presidential Election

9. On the poster, draw a bumper sticker, button, campaign poster, a supporter of your party might have. It should have the party slogan, or a statement about the platform, and an illustration

2. Party Mascot (Republicans are elephants) (red white and blue color scheme is recommended but not required

3. Party Slogan

4. Party Nickname (Republican are know as “Grand Old Party”)

5. Headquarters Location

6. Party Color for electoral college map (R are red, D are blue)

7. Important issues of your party (At least 5)

8. 2016 Presidential Nominee

9. Political Bumper Sticker (drawn on poster)
