General Information:

• Become familiar with the home page of BHSN’s website: north.mccsc.edu

o Check out the resources available through North’s Guidance Department. Click on

Departments, Counseling, Guidance and then explore the menu of topics. The Scholarship/Financial Aid listings and FAQ’s are especially helpful.

o Read Bloomington North’s “College Admission Handbook.”

This detailed 45 page guide is available on North’s home page and is updated annually.

o If you have not already done so, follow the link on North’s website to sign-up/self-subscribe to receive the BHSN Daily Announcements by email. All sorts of important college information is sent out via the announcements, such how to sign up to take the PSAT, various scholarship opportunities, meeting with visiting college admissions representatives, etc.

• Look for books and articles on college and career planning in the North Media Center & the North Guidance Office, at the Monroe County Public Library, and in local bookstores.

• Visit the Monroe County Public Library’s College Center website:

monroe.lib.in.us/teens/ and select “College Center.”

• Visit the “Indiana Learn More Resource Center” website:

• Check out the websites of colleges that interest you. Many have great guidance sections on college

preparation, admission standards, scholarships, etc. For example, see Indiana University’s website:
