BECOME A PIFA STREET FAIR VOLUNTEER!

June 9, 2018

On June 9, 2018 PIFA’s highly anticipated finale combines a fun-filled atmosphere with interactive elements. Throughout nine blocks of Broad Street, the PIFA Street Fair welcomes a wide variety of vendors, artisans, and exhibitors who fill the street while Philadelphians are captivated and entertained by a variety of local and international street performers, musicians, and family friendly programming.

We need your help to make this event a giant success! Volunteers will assist our staff throughout the event, providing customer service and assistance to our guests, vendors, and performance artists. Below are list of the different volunteer opportunities.

STREET FAIR VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

AMBASSADORS

Ambassadors will act as friendly facilitators of information and assistance. Volunteers may be stationed at an information kiosk on Broad Street or serve as roaming ambassadors who circulate through the street fair.

Volunteers will distribute information, answer questions and provide parking directions for visitors and vendors. Excellent communication skills are a must. Knowledge of the immediate area is a plus. Volunteers should enjoy working as part of a team dedicated to providing excellent customer service to our visitors. Assignments include standing and walking for extended periods of time.

VENDOR CHECK-IN/ RUNNER

Vendor check-in/runner volunteers help with checking in/checking out vendors, and artists. Duties include checking in vendors and ensuring they get to their appropriate locations. Volunteers also serve as runners, escorting performers to stage areas and lending support in hospitality areas. At times, this can be a fast paced position that requires patience, excellent organization and interpersonal skills.

ROVING ARTIST ESCORTS

An artist escort will be assigned to a specific roving performer. Volunteers will escort the artist from their dressing room area to the street and stay with them throughout their performance time helping to navigate them safely along their route.

BLOCK ASSISTANTS

These volunteers will work closely with event staff to monitor aspects of the street fair, including vendor and artist support, and ensure that each block of the street fair provides a safe, clean and secure visitor experience. This assignment includes standing and walking for extended periods of time. Familiarity with using a communication radio would be a plus.

Thank you for volunteering!
