Scholarship Criteria

A summary of the criteria for each of the scholarships available for the 2019-2020 academic year is listed below. Check only those scholarships that you meet the criteria for. Scholarships marked with an asterisk (*) require additional application materials or have specific restrictions. For scholarships stating that there is “Financial Need”, you must have filled out a FAFSA for the 2019-2020 academic year. Financial need cannot be determined if you have not done so.

ATTACHMENT FOR THE HATTIE M. STRONG FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

The STRONG SCHOLARS PROGRAM is funded by the Hattie M. Strong foundation and provides support to promising students who are likely to become excellent classroom teachers. During the 2019-2020 academic year, a $5,000 award will be granted to at least two (2) College of Education students who are student teaching and completing their education programs. Criteria for the award includes demonstrated financial need (as determined by the university financial aid office), outstanding success and enthusiasm in prior field experiences and a minimum 3.0 GPA in the two prior semesters.

If you are eligible for this award, PLEASE COMPLETE THE EDUCATION PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION packet, along with this form for the STRONG SCHOLARS and return everything to Memorial Hall, Room 3185 by 5:00 pm on Friday, April 5, 2019.

Please remember, the STRONG SCHOLARSHIPS are only for students in the College of Education teacher licensure programs who are student teaching and completing their education program during the 2019-2020 academic year.
