Report – Pam Horn Chelsea nominates Pam to stay on as Zone 5 Rep. Brenda seconds, all in favor.RAB is requiring MANDATORY policies to be developed by each Association for the 2020-2021 season, but highly recommend that we develop them for this season. The policies are for Recruiting and Retaining Players and for regulating the number of tournaments that teams can participate in (to help reduce costs to families). The consequences of not having those policies in place may be that the Association will not have access to the Come Try Ringette program and will not have their tournaments sanctioned.RAB is also stressing Safe Sport and the Responsible Coaching Movement (can view this on-line). We should ensure that we have this in our policies and discussed at Coach/Manager meetings, especially the Rule of 2.This is a refresher year for referees – ALL must attend a refresher course or will not be allowed to referee this upcoming season. This also means that there are no level 2 clinics offered.BGL scheduling – U10S1 plays on half ice; Associations may elect to have large team rosters that they split into 2 squads at each game or may elect to have smaller team rosters, with only one on the ice at a time. If you only have one small team at a time, BGL will NOT schedule 2 teams from different Associations on the other half ice, so they recommend we schedule a team for practice to use the ice.We must state at the Team Declaration meeting if our U10S1 team will be large (multiple squads) or small.U12 changes – have decided to add 2 games to the second session to make up for the lack of play down games, then Championships will be run for each pool and will be similar in scheduling to a RAB Provincials. There will be a fee of $750 (proposed) for each U12 team to participate in the championships.U19B – proposed to add 2 games to the U19B second session to help fill in the time to their Provincials.BGL new Minor Official for games – each team will now be required to provide a BGL Spectator Liaison for each game played. They will be required to wear a lanyard provided by BGL, will be expected to ‘police’ the fans for poor behavior or sportsmanship, and their names are to be recorded on the game sheet.AA will be staying with their own divisions in BGL.FMC and HIN are still in the league. FMC may have 2 U12 teams, so these 2 teams MAY play one home game each in Thorhild instead of FMC, depending on ice availability. If we want to host a WAM or Rush game, we are to contact them directly, near the end of August or beginning of September.Critical Dates for BGLNAWRA Ice SubmissionTBAIce Submission for first sessionSEPT 6Submit ASSOC. Brenda seconds, all in favor.Player Dev. Report – Dean CharpentierSpring Development Program: Last session is this Thursday. A final game will be played against the Edmonton group May 23rd. Considering the log registration, the players got more individual attention during the skill sessions and felt that the program improved compared to the first year. The additional 15 minutes of ice time made all the difference. I believe next year will have more enrollment.“Rust Off” 3rd Annual LRA Summer Camp: I am unsure of registration numbers at this time. We only have limited ice slots and will have to cap it early if numbers exceed last year. Goalie Camp: Have ice for Goalies as well again end of August. Will need to set that up as well.Active Start: Discussed the possibility of running a “Learn to Skate” with Shannon Jordan. She would be interested in running and helping develop the model. Advised details to be forthcoming. Will work on drawing up a program and pricing. Breakfast Club: Have applied for Wednesday and Thursday morning to secure the ice time from Oct 16 to Mid-February. Took 1 month off, Dec 14-Jan 14. Will see if we get this.
