We also focus on instilling a love for the game through positive coaching, sportsmanship, high level training & competition. Some of our program’s instruction will include physical fitness preparation for all around athletic performance, and mental fitness stress management and game focus. The RED HORNET VOLLEYBALL CLUB is committed to developing athletes to their fullest potential with a lifelong passion for the game.ExpectationsRED HORNET VOLLEYBALL CLUB is supportive of the volleyball athlete! Our training & tournament phase is demanding, but it will make athletes better, increase game knowledge, and improve technical skill level. RED HORNET VOLLEYBALL CLUB players are athletes who are excited about learning and reaching their highest potential, from the beginner athlete to the elite. It is the philosophy of the RED HORNET VOLLEYBALL CLUB program to develop respect, discipline, commitment, and a positive self-image in each of the athletes. It is important that each player understand the concept of being a part of a team. Every athlete will be expected to conduct herself appropriately at all times. You will be representing your family as well as the RED HORNET VOLLEYBALL CLUB program. Show respect at all times to coaches, teammates, officials at tournaments & parents. Be competitive, but not disrespectful toward other teams or clubs. Parents are expected to model appropriate behavior for their daughters and other players and parents and to be supportive of the team, the club and the coaches without disrespecting other teams, players or their coaches. There will be zero tolerance for any disrespect by parents or players toward others.Player PoliciesAttendance: It is your responsibility as a player to notify your Coach of scheduled events that you will be missing. If your schedule has many conflicts, you should carefully consider whether you have the time to dedicate to our Travel Team program. Volleyball is a power sport and it is important for players to attend all club events to achieve desired goals. Being present and working hard is a must.Arriving on Time: Players are required to be prepared for practice/tournaments at the time the practice/game is intended to begin: Example: if a player arrives in the gym on time but still has to change into appropriate volleyball attire, the player will be considered tardy.Practices: Players must give notification of their absence 24 hours prior to any scheduled practice, except in the case of an illness or emergency. (Players contracting Covid-19 will not be allowed to participate in any team events until all cleared after a 15 day quarantine) Tournaments: It is the player’s responsibility to give written (email) notification to her head coach or a Club Director at least 3 weeks prior to any scheduled tournament if she is unable to attend, except in the case of an illness or emergency. During tournaments, players are required to, and will be responsible for, officiating, scorekeeping and line judging. No player is permitted to leave a tournament site until all responsibilities are completed, unless specifically permitted by her head coach. When your team has referee duties, the ENTIRE team must stay and work until the match is completed, this includes the last officiating duty.Overnight Travel: During any overnight travel, curfew will be 10:00pm on all nights prior to a match! It is our preference that all players stay with their parents or another team parent. It is the parent’s responsibility to arrange housing for their daughter, if that player’s parent(s) cannot attend. Coaches are not permitted to arrange rides or hotel accommodations for athletes.Playtime: Playtime during tournaments is not guaranteed or negotiable and decisions about playing time will be made solely by the RED HORNET coaching staff and directors. Coaches will do their best to provide playing time to all players; however, every player must be willing to accept this rule in order to participate at the club level.Team Placement: Players must accept placement on a team by accepting and responding to the RH club offer email received from the Club Director within 48 hours upon receipt of the offer. The Club Initial Deposit fee of $600 must be paid immediately and no later than 7 days from acceptance of the official club offer. If a player does not accept within the 48 hour time period as stated in the offer e-mail or fails to pay initial club fee, their position can be given to another player.Zero Tolerance: RED HORNET VOLLEYBALL CLUB has a zero tolerance policy when a player is caught using profanity, possessing or using tobacco, drugs, or alcohol during any club event. RED HORNET players must adhere to curfew guidelines. Any participant found with someone who is not associated with the RED HORNET VOLLEYBALL CLUB or with anyone of the opposite sex (other than a parent or sibling) in rooms will be immediately pulled from the team. Players must adhere to all USAV and AAU rules & policies. Any violation of the above rules could result in the suspension or expulsion from RED HORNET VOLLEYBALL CLUB at the discretion of its director. Club tuition and fees will not be refunded to players who violate these rules and lose their place on a team as a result. Parent/Guardian/Guest Policies and Conduct: It is the responsibility of the parents/guardian/guest to understand and agree to the attendance policy under the player guidelines. All parents/guardian/guests are expected to conduct themselves in a positive fashion with regards to RHVC events. Parents are invited to attend all practices and tournaments, but must conduct themselves appropriately while in that environment. Parents who violate these rules could be asked to leave or banned from attending RHVC events. Parents are responsible for transporting their children to and from all tournaments & practices. Team reps can assist in planning car pools for ones that need it. Parents are to be supportive of the entire Team at all times, and all RHVC Teams while at tournaments. We encourage parents to cheer for our teams as long as their behavior does not reflect negatively on the RHVC. Guidelines for parents are no different from athletes in this regard. Only the head coach or the team captain, under the direction of the head coach, may question an official or gym supervisor. At no time should any parent address or yell at any official. At tournaments, parents/guardian/guests are expected to inform the coach when their child is leaving the tournament/practice facility. Notification will be required if a player is to leave with anyone besides a RHVC parent/guardian/guest. Parents/guardians/guests are asked to respect ALL other players, opponents, parents, guardians, guests, and officials involved with USA Volleyball, AAU Volleyball, and the RED HORNET VOLLEYBALL CLUB. Negative comments will not be tolerated and will result the individual who made them being asked to leave.Dispute Policy: If a parent has a dispute over a coaching decision, they must wait 24 hours before speaking to the coach. If a parent approaches a coach about playtime decisions during a game or tournament, then that parent’s daughter WILL be benched immediately. Please ensure you follow proper procedures to make sure that the team does not suffer for your decision to break the 24 hour rule. This is to ensure that cooler heads prevail. If the problem concerns playtime or player discipline, the PLAYER must approach the coach first. If a parent does not follow this procedure, then playtime WILL be affected. This is a responsibility of the player. At no point will other players be discussed. If the parent still has a concern or problem, they can ask for a meeting with the club director that will include the coach, player, and parent.Even though the club director has a final say on all disputes, the team coach will be supported with all playtime decisions. Every effort will be made to help make sure that the player understands the coach’s thinking and communicates ways for them to improve and earn more playtime. Please email the coach and club director that you would like to meet and briefly list your concerns ahead of time so that our meeting can be productive. Club disciplinary actions for the 24 hour rule are as follows:IF A PARENT, GAURDIAN, OR FAMILY MEMBER BREAKS THE 24 HOUR RULE, THE RHVC PLAYER CONCERNED WILL BE SUBJECT TO “BENCHING FOR A SET or TOTAL BENCHING” FOR THE FOLLOWING TOURNAMENT, NO EXCEPTIONS.Payment Guidelines: All payments should be made payable to RED HORNET VOLLEYBALL CLUB on or before applicable due dates.
