Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College(A-B Tech) ProcedureProcedure 507: Holiday LeaveA-B Tech will observe holidays as designated by the Board of Trustees, not to exceed twelve days per fiscal year. Holidays will be communicated in the officially approved annual academic calendar.EligibilityFull-time regular employees are eligible for a holiday when they are in pay status through the holiday and work the day before and the day following the holiday. Full-time regular employees who are in an approved paid leave status will also receive the holiday. If the holiday falls at the end of the month and the employee is in pay status through the last available work day, pay is received for the holiday.Holiday Compensatory TimeNon-exempt employees who are required to work when the College is closed will receive compensatory leave at the rate of time and one-half hours for all hours worked. Non-exempt employees who are required to work on a day that is a federal holiday and observed by the College as a holiday will receive compensatory leave at a rate of two hours for each hour worked.Exempt employees who are required to work when the College is closed will receive flex time for all hours worked on the holiday.Accommodations for Religious ObservancesReligious observances outside of the approved College holidays may be accommodated by the use of vacation leave.Definitions: Position categories are defined in Policy 503.05, Employment Categories and Classifications.Pursuant to Board Policy 507, the Holiday Leave procedure, the College will observe holidays as designated by the Board of Trustees.Owner: Executive Director, Human Resources and Organizational DevelopmentUpdated: May 27, 2020 ................
