Basic Qualification Requirement:Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying and integrating the policies, concepts and theories of logistics management, engineering, product assurance, test and evaluation, contracting, or budget execution to the management of complex programs AND assessing the impact of changing resource constraints, new logistics support concepts, and various design factors (i.e. operating conditions, interoperability with other systems) on an integrated acquisition strategy, including analysis of program alternatives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.Responsibilities/Duties: Acquisition ManagerPerform broad and complex studies and analyses across organizational and functional lines on a variety of projects, issues and problem cases.Task, direct, and coordinate with other internal and external organizations and offices engaged in the development and implementation of plans and objectives to assure that actions are in keeping with the PM’s management direction.Identify areas needing emphasis, exercises guidance to ensure programs and initiatives of the PM are accurately meeting management expectations and alerts the PM if trends even though within tolerance, are negative.Acquisition StrategyConduct conferences to obtain agreements concerning acceptability of the current or envisioned product in relation to current military characteristics and what may be producible and supportable later in the product life cycle.Develop plans and objectives for assigned systems acquisition projects.Represent the Assistant Project Manager at conferences or meetings with representatives of AMC, HQDA, other services, foreign countries and private industry, relative to the acquisition strategy for assigned systems.Conditions of Employment:Must meet suitability for Federal employmentWill be required to provide proof of U.S. CitizenshipMust be able to obtain/maintain a Secret Security clearanceWill be required to serve a 2 year probationary periodDirect Deposit of pay is requiredThis position is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position.
