Chick-fil-A First 100 - Blah, Blah, Blog

[Pages:3]Chick-fil-A First 100 Campout

As you may know, I have participated in several Chick-fil-A First 100

Campouts. They are a lot of fun and you can't beat the 52 FREE combo meal coupons!

Below are some details about the First 100 Campout promotion that may answer some of your questions. However, if all of your questions are not answered after ready this, please feel free to contact me and I will try to answer any other questions you might have.

Wouldn't it would be SUPER to get a group of friends together and have a fun time spending the day and night together, playing games, snacking, maybe computing (CFA is in the process of outfitting all their existing and new stores with FREE WIFI, so there maybe wireless) and just having an

all together good time. AND, who wouldn't benefit from $250.00+ worth of FREE Chickfil-A? GREAT for the ole budget!

Along with this letter you will find a copy of the "official rules" from the CFA website.

! Briefly, I'll tell you that you would probably want to show up early It starts at 6:00 a.m. and some in

Atlanta that we participated in were full by 10:00 a.m. Of course you must remember that Atlanta is like Mecca for CFA and thus it is vastly more popular there than in other parts of the country. So, if you are in

one of those "other parts of the country" and planning to participate in a First 100 Campout, yours may

not fill up until 5:00 p.m. or later. No one can really tell.

After you arrive and register under the CFA tent, you set your tent and stuff up where they tell yo u to and they will also tell you where to park your car (at some, the parking has been just across the street, at a couple they have actually had to shuttle us to and from the parking area ? just depends on the location and what is

available to them). Then you just hang out in the parking lot all day, play board games, throw

the Frisbee or football (sometimes there is a portable basketball goal), compute (if you bring a laptop ? they are pretty good about letting you recharge inside the store when needed), read a book, sit and talk, etc., etc., etc.

They let you go in to use the bathroom when you need to but you can't leave the property or you will be disqualified. They do what they call a "line check" several times during the 24 hour period to be sure everyone is still there.

People come with their whole families. There are usually a lot of children. Of course, you have to

be 18 years old to be one of the "First 100" and receive the FREE 52 combo meal coupons. There will probably be a lot of young people there (18-21 year olds), this seems to make up much of the participants.

I've seen people show up with as little as a chair and as much as an 8- man tent, additional canopy, couch, TV, Xbox, laptop, generator, etc., etc., etc. Whatever you need to be comfortable and have fun, and can carry from and to your car ? we use a wagon. We usually take a 2-man tent, double air mattress, sleeping

bags, pillows, cooler with snacks and drinks, fold up seats, reading material, games, light jackets, toothbrush, etc., etc., etc.

They usually give you something for breakfast, lunch, and supper (and a midnight snack) but I always take food just incase they don't. It's not a given. Each campout we've been to has been different. Typically it's been a buttered biscuit for breakfast, CFA sandwich for lunch, CFA sandwich for dinner, 8 nuggets about 10:00 p.m., maybe popcorn with the movie (one time it was pizza), and Ice Dream with all the toppings around midnight ? that's usually when they do the last line check.

Sometimes, Dan or Bubba Cathy gives a devotional at midnight ? that's pretty cool!

As the day progresses there are coordinated games for you to participate in (if you are so inclined), there will probably be a live DJ, and possibly a band, and maybe a movie around 10:00 p.m. ? the movies have

always been very "family oriented". The last one was Facing the Giants ? GREAT must-see film!

You will probably get a few hours of sleep between midnight and 5:00 a.m. That's when they wake you up

and you get your stuff together. About 5:30 a.m. they usually line up the First 100, and at 6:00 you will file

through the store (possibly to the beating and banging of pots and pans, much applause, and sometimes Dan Cathy's horn), they give you your box of coupons, and you are free to leave.

It is possible to do this and only miss one day of work. Many of us have done that, even though some jobs

:~) are a little easier to perform on 4 hours of sleep than others

However, even if you end up taking

Wednesday and Thursday off, (they are always on Wednesday and Thursday) that's like making $250.00. That's not too shabby!

I hope you will consider participating, and feel free to invite others also. If you have any questions, please let me know.

First 100 People at a Chick-fil-A Restaurant Grand Opening Win Free Food for a Year!

The First 100 Grand Opening Promotion was created in late 2003 to reward the first 100 qualified participants in line at the Grand Opening of a Chick-fil-A restaurant. These 100 people each receive a Grand Prize of one Chick-fil-A Combo Meal (Chickfil-A Chicken Sandwich, Waffle Potato Fries and drink) per week for a year (equating to 52 meals).

The line can begin forming as early as 24 hours prior to the Grand Opening.

Many people make the event an all-nighter. They play board games or throw a football or just make new friends.

The 100 Grand Prizes are awarded at the designated time for opening on Grand Opening day. This time may vary by location, but it's usually first thing in the morning.

Things to know: * You must be one of the first registered 100 people in line who is 18

years of age or older with valid photo ID, and has stayed in line until the Grand Opening of the store (exceptions made for short restroom breaks). * No purchase is necessary. * Chick-fil-A employees and their family members may not participate. * Additional prizes may be randomly drawn to be won by qualified participants.
