28th AMENDMENT PROJECTOverview:The process of amending the U.S. Constitution is long and difficult, requiring supermajorities in both houses of Congress and in state legislatures. Your task is to propose an amendment to the Constitution to make it adaptable to modern challenges.What changes should be made to our Constitution to address challenges today? To what extent should we follow original intent?Assignment:You will first become an expert in the part of the Constitution you want to change. You will then create an infographic that does each of the following:Teaches your selected part of the Constitution with a visualProposes a 28th Amendment that addresses a problem within your part of the ConstitutionExplains why, using three recent events, your amendment is needed todayEach project will be presented and debated. The amendments will be voted on by the class; like an actual amendment proposal, a 2/3 vote of both AP government classes (i.e., houses of Congress) is needed to pass onto the states for ratification.
