Rep. Pronschinske Introduces 2nd Amendment Sanctuary State Bill

Madison ? Representative Treig E. Pronschinske (R-Mondovi) introduced LRB 2788 today to make Wisconsin a Second Amendment Sanctuary State. He issued the following statement:

"In recent days, the federal government and many elected officials have made statements about infringing on the rights of legal gun owners. There are even federal bills introduced to do just that," Rep. Pronschinske stated.

Rep. Pronschinske added, "This bill is not doing anything other than following the Constitution. It assures people that if the Federal government tries to take away their rights, that Wisconsin will not be assisting in these efforts and that no public dollars or employees will either."

"I firmly believe in the U.S. and Wisconsin Constitution and that the people's rights are not to be infringed. When a member of the Wisconsin Legislature takes their oath of office it requires them to support both the U.S. Constitution, which includes the 2nd amendment, and the Wisconsin Constitution. Article I, section 25, of the Wisconsin Constitution states, "The people have the right to keep and bear arms for security, defense, hunting, recreation or any other lawful purpose," Rep. Pronschinske continued.
