Writer’s Workshop

Working on writing personal narratives with fluency continues.

We have been working with developing the internal story to better understand the character, better describing the action in the story, and using detailed descriptions. We are also working on mapping out our stories using a story mountain and using strong leads. Over the course of the next week , we will be revising and editing our stories to be published

3rd Grade Social Studies

Our Social Studies unit on Michigan is coming to an end and we will be reviewing the Great Lakes region, Michigan’s Natural Resources and Human Features. On our website:

Good work!

When working with your child’s spelling words write them on index cards or pieces of paper and have your child sort them into different categories to see the similarities and differences!

Social Studies

Second grade is working with cardinal directions and mapping within a community.

Reading Workshop

We are continuing to work on better understanding the characters in the books that we are reading. Some of the things we have been working on are: Noticing places that make us feel strong emotions and reflect on them, noticing patterns to a character’s actions, and revising our theories about characters as we continue to read.
