Thesis Statements

What is a Three-Prong Thesis Statement???

• The three-prong (three-part) thesis statement is one of the easiest types of thesis statements to create.

• This statement is like a topic sentence for your whole paper.

• The thesis statement previews what your essay will be about.

• The thesis statement should be only one sentence.

• You should not use statements like, “I’m going to tell you…” or “This paper is about…”
