Therefore if you have MS Access already installed you may not need to install 2016.The Run Time version - which is available for free from Microsoft - is available from the RBCE Website or directly from Microsoft. It will not interfere with any other MS Access software you may have installed.3.2System TypeMicrosoft Access 2016 is available for 32 or 64 bit systems. The version of Microsoft Access 2016 must be capable of working with your System Type. Therefore since 32 bit software works on both 32 and 64 bit systems it is always supplied in 32 bit format.You can determine which you have by browsing to:- Start Menu > Settings > Control Panel > System.In the System Section the System Type is displayed as one of the following.- 32-bit Operating System.- 64-bit Operating System.3.3Initial DatabaseThe initial installation installs three database at the following locations:- C:\Users\Public\SASInstall\Database\- C:\Users\Public\SASInstall\Demo\DemoDB\- C:\Users\Public\SASInstall\Demo\DemoDB\Base\The first set contains all of the initial data to create a custom version of the system. This set is is the one initially 'linked' to the application during installation.The second set contains a completely function Demonstration Database that can be used to 'play' with the application. It can be refreshed back to its initial state by replacing it with the third set of databases.The third set contains a copy of the Demonstration Database that can be used to 'refresh' the actual Demonstration Database.If you are unfamiliar with the application it is recommended that the first step to using the application be to relink it to the Demonstration Database. See Section 103.0 - Relink To Demonstration Database Procedure.3.4DocumentationThe application is fully documented in MS Word at the following location that can be accesses by the System Documentation Button.- C:\Users\Public\SASInstall\Documentation100.0SAS Application Installation ProceduresThis section provides detailed instructions for downloading and installing SAS for an initial installation.101.0Download ProcedureStepInstructionsResult100.0Download Installation File110.0Using any web browser browse to the RBCE.CA website.- RBCE Home Page displays.120.0Select the Downloads Tab.- Downloads Tab displays.130.0Click the SAS Install- Scout Admin System Version 2021-MM-DD-VV hyperlink.- The download begins.140.0Download and save the file to a location of your choice by following the standard Microsoft download scenario.- It is recommended that you create and save to a folder / sub-folder with the same name as the Software Version being downloaded. e.g. C:\SAS\Install 2021-MM-DD-VV\- Installation file is downloaded to desired location.- Download time normally will be less than 30 seconds.102.0Installation ProcedureStepInstructionsResult100.0Install Application110.00Browse to the location where the Installation File has been saved.- The location is displayed.120.0Double Click the Installation File and follow the prompts.- The application is installed to the Microsoft standard location.e.g. C:\Users\Public\SASInstall\- Installation time will normally be less than 30 seconds.130.0Review the ReadMe document - if selected during the installation - when it displays.- This document is also available within the System Documentation after installation has completed.103.0Relink To Demonstration Database ProcedureThis procedure details how to relink the Installation Database set of databases to the Demonstration Database set of databases.StepInstructionsResult100.0Relink Application110.00Start the application from the Windows Start Button or the SAS Application Shortcut on the Desktop.- The A-00-00 - SAS Welcome Form displays.120.0Select the F-09-920 - Database Utilities Form.- The F-09-920 - Database Utilities Form displays.130.0Select the following Database Location.- C:\Users\Public\SASInstall\Demo\DemoDB\- The Demonstration Database location is selected.140.0Select the Link Databases Tab.- The Link Databases tab is displayed.150.0Follow the instruction on the form to complete the relinking.- The application is linked to the Demonstration Database.160.0Close the F-09-920 - Database Utilities Form.- The A-00-00 - SAS Welcome Form displays.- The Current System Information at the bottom of the form displays the current information including that the Demonstration Database in the SAS Current DB field.103.0Post Installation Notes103.1A-00-000 - SAS Welcome Menu InformationThis is the only way to enter into the application. It contains the following three options plus it displays Current System Information.After exiting the application MS Access has to be closed separately in the normal Windows manner. i.e. Click the 'X' in the top right corner.Options- M-00-000 - System Main Menu.- System Documentation.- F-09-920 - Database Utilities Form- Exit System.System Information- System Type.- SAS Version.- Website.- SAS Install DB. The location of the initial Base Database.- SAS Current DB. The location of the currently active database.103.2Initial DataThe standard installation contains databases with basic (Base) data loaded. If the M-00-000 - System Main Menu button is clicked, the menu will display with a message at the bottom advising that a valid Period must be entered and how to navigate to the form to do this.103.2Demonstration DataThe system also contains a Demonstration Database (DEMO) that can be used to see example data and play with the system.
