TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR

3-Ton Capacity Engine Stand

WARNING TO BIDDERS: Bidder should complete every item described in detail in the “Specification Descriptions” section by either entering a check mark in the space provided to indicate the item being bid is exactly as specified or bidder should enter a written description to indicate any proposed item which will deviate from the specifications.

THIS SPECIFICATION SHOULD BE EXECUTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ABOVE INSTRUCTIONS AND RETURNED ALONG WITH BID AND LITERATURE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR AN AWARD.

ITEM I/D SPECIFICATION DESCRIPTIONS BIDDER’S PROPOSAL

General These specifications describe the minimum requirements for a 3-ton engine stand. This equipment shall be new, of current manufacture, a production model, and must meet all State and Federal safety standards in effect at time of delivery. Any additions, deletions, or variations from the following specifications should be noted. Any items, appearing in the manufacturer’s regular published specifications furnished by the Bidder are assumed to be included in the “Bidder’s Proposal”. Any additions, deletions, or variations from the manufacturer’s regular published specifications should be outlined in an attached letter.

Typical A Hein Werner HW93776 Engine Stand with adapters HW93776-4, HW93776-5, and HW93776-1 were used to develop these specifications.

Equipment of similar style, type, character, quality and purpose conforming to the detailed requirements listed below will be considered equivalent. .

Workmanship Any unit delivered under this specification is subject to rejection if there is evidence of poor workmanship, by either the vendor or the original manufacturer. Any defect, so noted, may be corrected by the vendor to the satisfaction of the Department or his representative.

All defect corrections must be completed to the satisfaction of the Department before invoices can be processed for payment.

ITEM I/D SPECIFICATION DESCRIPTIONS BIDDER’S PROPOSAL

Vendor installation of any portion of equipment units should be stated in “Bidder’s Proposal”. Failure to note such installations can result in rejection of the unit(s) at time of delivery.

Type 3-Ton capacity engine stand built using tubular steel welded construction. This stand shall be constructed with a hand cranked gear reduction system to allow for easy 360-degree rotation of the engine while on the stand and have the ability to be lock in multiple positions. The stand shall be able to tilt the installed engine for added rotational clearance and come equipped with a hydraulic jack for tilting the engine.

The stand shall be equipped with steel castors with a minimum diameter of 7.5 inches on the front and 5.5 inches on the rear. The stand shall be capable of being secured to the floor either by anchoring screws or retractable wheels to prevent movement when loaded.

The stand shall come with a universal adapter and the needed adapter plates for use with Caterpillar, Cummins and International engines. Plates shall fit at a minimum these engines.

Cummins Engines for all NH, NTC, & NTE 855 Series in-line 6 cylinder, 378 Series V6, 504, 555 & 903 Series V8, KT 1150 Series in-line 6 Cylinder L10.

International Engines DT-466 in-line 6 cylinder DV-550, MV-404, MV-446, V304, V435, V392, 4-152, 4-194, 4-196, 9.0 liter V8, 6.9L (Ford).

Caterpillar Engines 1673, 1674, 1693, 3306 & 3406 in-line 6 cylinder also 1100 & 3208 V8 and 3408 V8.

Serviced Ready for operation.

Parts Vendor should attach to bid a listing of the Louisiana locations where parts and service can be obtained.

Descriptive TWO (2) COPIES OF DESCRIPTIVE PRODUCT

Literature ADVERTISEMENT-LITERATURE BROCHURES SHOULD BE FURNISHED WITH BID.

Product Support Equipment will not be considered delivered nor invoices

Literature processed for payment until all manuals are furnished according to the following guidelines and units are checked for compliance with Department specifications. Vendors are urged to order manuals as soon as Purchase Order is received.

All manual(s) should be referenced to the appropriate Purchase Order.

EACH PIECE OF EQUIPMENT WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY: TWO (2) COPIES (UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED) OF THE FOLLOWING LITERATURE.

Service Manual

Copies of all Manufacturer’s standard product warrantees.

Notarized Bill of Sale (2 copies)

Delivery TIME OF DELIVERY MAY BE CONSIDERED IN DETERMINING SUCCESSFUL BIDDER.
