I want to thank each and every one of you and anyone who volunteered tor Cause 4 Paws! We appreciate all of our fosters, all of our event workers, all of our fundraisers and all of the people that donate to help these sweet cats and kittens. Apparently there is a group of us that just can’t say “No”! Cause 4 Paws took in 515 cats and kittens and had 355 adoptions through PetSmart for the calender year of 2019. PetSmart’s year runs from Feb 1, 2019 through Jan 31, 2020 and our adoptions for that time period were 381. That’s about 100 adoptions more than 2018! I also want to thank everyone who sent help to the sweet kittens with the eye issues. Unfortunately Pecan had some other health issures and passed away. Your generous donations allowed Peanut and Cashew to have their eye surgeries in February. The next step for them is to find a permanent loving home so they can be adopted together. Each one has limited vision but this hardly holds them back and together they make a Dynamic Duo! Please call 540 972-8038 for information on adopting them.have a wonderful life. Thank you for helping Peanut, Pecan & Cashew! If you have the heart to help a cat with special needs live in a loving home, please let us know. These sweet babies will be up for adoption in a few months and will need special people like you to take care of them. EditorDarlene AgstenCassie?(was Cassidy) is a loving kitten & a comedian.? She is growing long and slender.? She is sleeping through the night and plays most of the day.? She cuddles with me while watching TV. Cassie loves her cat perches at the windows to watch the leaves as they blow across the yard.?She is still a little shy but is much more trusting, very curious and has checked out most of the rooms in the house.? She makes us laugh. I was eating a pretzel rod the other night while watching TV and the next thing I knew she jumped up took the pretzel and rolled it around the floor.? She is the perfect kitten for us. We love her a lot. --CherylCassie Betsy (now Polly Lenore) is a wonderful cat. A beautiful Polydactyl Himalayan. Here’s the story. We got a call about 2 female, 6 month old kittens that neededCause 4Paws’ help. The “Caller” said they were found in a house that was being foreclosed on next door to where she lived. She had them now and they were safe and doing better. When I inquired, this is what she told me.The “Renter” of the property next door had two kittens. He told everyone, including the “Owner” of the property, that he had turned the kittens in to the SPCA before he moved out. Everyone accepted that story. Two weeks later a lady was walking past this locked up house and saw the kittens in the window. She immediately reacted and broke a window to get them out. They had no food for 2 weeks. They just sat on the lawn in a daze. They ate so ravenously they threw up, but the “Caller” took them to her house next door and nursed them back to health. Amazing save….but this is just the beginning of the story. After the kittens were surrendered to Cause 4 Paws they were taken to a vet for shots and spays. Then a couple of weeks for recovery and they were put in PetSmart for adoption. They did not get adopted. Shocking, since they were sweet and beautiful! 2 more weeks at a foster’s house and back in PetSmart a couple of days before a C4P adoption event. They were still there, on Saturday, in a lower cage of the adoption room.Later on Saturday, a Cause 4 Paws member came up to me pretty frantic and said there is a lady crying in the adoption room, saying the kittens we have are hers. Thinking to myself, “if she has anything to do with leaving them in the locked foreclosed house, I am calling the Sheriff”.The lady and her husband were sitting on the floor. She was telling me she was sure these were her kittens. I told them how we had acquired the kittens. The lady started crying and said they were moving their family across town so they took the kittens to their friend’s house. (They told me the address). When they went to that house to pick them up, they found it empty and locked up. They called their “friend” who was the “renter” and he told them he took them to the SPCA. Of course the SPCA had no record of them being turned in and she had been looking for them ever since. The lady wanted to adopt the kittens. Her husband was less sure but when I confirmed the address for him, he agreed. After a couple of months, and escaping a near tragic end, the kittens got to go home to their family. The lady called me the next day and said they remembered the furniture when they got to their house.Wow! No wonder they didn’t get adopted. They were meant to go back home. This story could have ended so many other ways! Please be careful who you leave in charge of your babies!Hi everyone!? My name is Tiger and I am a 4 year old very handsome (if I do say so myself) brown tabby looking for love!!!? Over the last year I went through some rough times ending up homeless and injured.?I tested positive for FIV. I suffered a dislocated hip and thankfully the great folks from Cause4Paws saved me and took me to have surgery on my hip.? My surgery was a complete success and now after being fostered by several ladies during my recovery period I am ready for adoption!? Now I have to let you know that all the ladies have fallen madly in love with me as I am a very charming guy, but I am ready for my own home now!? I am very fond of being petted and would love my own person or family to cuddle with ... will watch sports or soap operas ... just want to be loved!!!????I love other cats and dogs too!...TigerIs your cat in Pain? Do you know how to tell? I wasn’t too sure I did. Cats conceal all of their issues and we have to discover what is wrong. I took a cat in to have a couple of broken teeth removed. When I picked him up the vet tech told me he had had some pain meds but if he was still in pain tomorrow bring him back and they would give him more. My question to her was, “How can I tell he is in pain?” She told me “If he just sits there staring down, he is in pain”. I didn’t know that! How many other times have cats been in pain and I missed it?Here is Doris…..when we got her she always just sat and looked down. Was she in pain? Well yes! After her vet exam she had some bad teeth and she limped. It turned out she needed knee surgery! Guess what….she doesn’t look down anymore! She even runs around! We are constantly learning and glad to share. Doris before Doris after both surgeries! LouieHappy TailFridayThis guy is 1 1/2 yrs old, very polite and gentle and loves to play. Friday is available for adoption from C4P. For other available cats please see our website..He's such a love bug! Also, We've changed his name from Billy to Louie.? For some reason, I kept calling him Louie and the kids picked it up and liked it.? THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT Since we went to press in November 2019 through Feb 2020, Cause 4 Paws has received donations from the following generous persons.
