40. GENERAL:

The closest Hospital to the track is Wusikile Mine Hospital 11km from the track.

The currency used in Zambia is ZMW (Zambia Kwacha) and currencies can be changed at the airport/bureau du Change’s and at the banks. Although many prices are based on the dollar most companies and shops expect payment in Zambian Kwacha.

Malaria is endemic to the area and very common, so precautions and anti-mosquito bite measures should be taken seriously. On returning to your own country if you should begin to feel unwell immediate action should be taken and your doctor informed you have been in a Malaria area. Prophylactics do not guarantee you will not contract the disease.

The Jetting strip runs on the left hand side of the circuit and will be clearly indicated to riders from the pit area and is for testing bikes. All other areas other than the racetrack and jetting area riders must ride at a safe first gear pace for the safety of pedestrians.

The National Speed limit in Zambia is 100kmph. There are very seldom speed signs however as a general rule 40km per hour in city limits 60km per hour in built up areas and 80 or 100 on open roads. But be warned that if you see a speed sign, obey it ,as the chances are the speed traps will be near by! Cars require 2 metal triangles (4) if you are towing. A fire extuingisher. Reflective tape should be stuck on bumpers (  2 Red on rear, 2 white on front, suggest 10 cm strips roughly on the four corners of the car)

Where towing the trailer should have a T sticker or T made from red reflective tape (for information, only Zambian registered trailers are supposed to have the towing vehicles license plate displayed on the trailer along with the trailer license plate, this is not supposed to apply to foreign registered trailers, however we do have some creative traffic officers who try their luck on unsuspecting visitors! It is a good idea to download a copy of the road traffic act and list of fines for easy reference along the way.

If you have multiple drivers please indicate this on your TIP, there is one road block near Ndola that will check the driver against what is written on the TIP. Seat belts must be worn including Back seat belts (fine is K300 per person not wearing one!). If you are parked and talking on your phone the engine must be turned off. As a general rule if you cross at Livingstone do not head for Lusaka if it is after 13:00hrs, the last section of rd. after Mazabuka is very bad, not advisable to travel in the dark.

NB. Please will all countries bring a spare National flag for flagpole display. Looking forward to seeing you all and hope you have a great days racing.

41. INSURANCE

By endorsing the entry form, the FMN of the visiting rider certifies that the rider is medically insured in accordance with FIM Africa requirements including repatriation costs.  It is not the responsibility of the Organizers to check or control the Riders’ medical insurance, for both visitors and local riders. All medical costs are for the account of the Rider. Organizers will accept that a signed entry form indemnifies the Organizers from all types of claims and obligations. The Organizers further confirm that they have contracted third party insurance in accordance with Art. 110.1 Of the FIM Africa Sporting Code for public liability.

The Organizers will not accept any claims for damages to a motorcycle, accessories and components arising out of an accident, fire, theft or any other causes.
