A Level Activities: Choose one of the following activities after you complete the B level.

1. _____ There was quite a controversy surrounding the University of Illinois mascot, Chief Illiniwek. Research the arguments of each side and decide whether it would be better to keep this mascot or adopt a new one. Present and explain your opinion thoroughly. Be prepared for a debate!

2. _____ You are a member of the Illiniwek tribe. Describe your way of life, your chores, and your feelings in a letter to your pen pal. Also explain whether you think it would be better to work with the European settlers or not.

3. _____ To what extent is Chicago important to the rest of the state? Design a project to show this.

4. _____ Is Illinois the best place to live? Why or why not? Write a five paragraph persuasive essay.
