Allgood Student ClubsAllgood Flag PatrolGoal: To learn and implement flag etiquetteGrade: Fifth graders - 5 (or 6) students recommended by their 4th?grade teachersDuties: ?To put the flags up each morning, take them down each afternoon, and store them properlyMeetings: As needed from 8:00a.m. – 8:15 a.m.Advisor: Michelle Hamilton, mhamilton@paulding.k12.ga.us______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Safety PatrolGoal: The purpose for the Safety Patrol is to allow students to be a leader in their school community each morning and to be a model for school appropriate decorum for their peers and students in k-4.?Grade: 5th?How students can join/apply: Students that have good grades and outstanding behavior, will be given an application by their teacher. Students, then, must complete the application with a parent’s signature. Upon the return of the application, students will be chosen according to timeliness, students’ narrative, and need.Club duties: Students must be at school and headed to their post by 7:25am. They sign in and out each morning and wear a safety patrol sash each morning.Meeting dates/times: We typically start safety patrol after fall break.? We meet 3-4 times a year depending on the need.Advisor(s):? This program is designed to give students a positive encounter with music and grow from the challenge of performing in a well-disciplined group. *Allgood Elementary has many talented young musicians and we are very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with these students*Grades: Blanchard-3rd/Johnson-4th?& 5thHow students can join: Spring and Fall Chorus Contracts are handed out in classes by each advisorMeeting dates/times: We will rehearse on Mondays 2:30p.m.-3:30p.m. except for the Monday during Conference Week.? The last two Monday rehearsals before the performance will be from 2:30-4:00pm.Fall concert in November, Winter concert in December, Spring concert in May Club?Activities/duties: Sing and perform during school performances. Chorus members are also expected to demonstrate appropriate behavior in all school areas. There is a nominal fee for supplies.Meeting dates/times: Meeting dates vary, but they are always on Thursdays, after school until 3:45p.m.Club activities: We learn to sew simple items including buttons and use various other mediums. Meeting dates/times: Every?Wednesday 2:30pm-4:00pmClub activities/duties: Reading from a given list of Georgia Book Award nominees, participating in mock competitions to prepare for competing against other Paulding County and GA students, studying book questions to prepare for competition. In the Spring, students will prepare submissions for a variety of writing competitions, and also begin to read the book selections for the next year's competition.
