VAST Performance Methanol Injection Kit Install Guide

2.7T Specific

The first step is to verify all parts that you will need for your install on the 2.7T Biturbo. Locate the two ¼” - 1/8” adapters. Remove the bi-pipe and using a 7/16” drill bit, drill tap holes on each bi-pipe and use a ¼” NPT pipe tap to thread the holes.

Adapter fittings to methanol jets, to be tapped into the bipipe, after the intercoolers, downstream of the throttle body by at least 6”. Apply a little plumbers putty or Teflon tape on this fitting for a tight seal.

Methanol Nozzles: we recommend #3 nozzles for k03’s and low boost k04 setups. (Anything around 400hp). #4 nozzles are great for k04’s with full boost on the street and moderate boost on RS6’s. #5 nozzles are for high boost k04’s at their max or RS6 turbos. #7 nozzles are also available for more extreme cases. Please note, the filtered side with screen is the inlet of the nozzle. The nozzle outlet, with o-ring, screws into the above bipipe adapter after it has been assembled to the 90 degree elbow. The nozzle on the right is disassembled to show its components.

There will be two 90 degree elbows, 1/8” NPT to accept the filtered end of the nozzle and to accept the push-on hose adapters. First tighten the push-on hose adapters to one side of the elbow then install a nozzle into each adapter, then hand tighten the assembly into the adapters in the bipipe. Installation will be similar to pictures below:

The pump is mounted securely in front of the ABS pump with the supplied large screw clamp. After the pump is installed, run a short section of tubing to the check valve. The arrow orientation needs to flow towards the nozzles and away from the pump. After the check valve, run a line to the supplied splitter and branch this off to each 90 degree elbow. We recommend priming the pump as you connect fittings. With the methanol pump all wired up, apply 12 volts to either of the red wires in the white nylon housings of the pump. You can even use this method to empty out any unwanted fluid from the washer reservoir.

There are two ways you can tap the windshield washer tank. One is from the bottom with the supplied hose fitting and washer and the other is to drill a small hole on the top and put a grommet in there and shove the feed line all the way down to about 4-5 inches from the bottom of the tank. Either method works great.

The methanol controller is typically kept in the glove box and the wires are run behind the radio area and out into the engine bay through the ecu box or any grommet in the firewall area. The pink wire on the controller is typically wired to the 75X terminal under the dash panel on the driver side of car(switched 12V on ignition and fuse it to 10A). The green wire of the controller is connected to the blue / grey wire on the map sensor located on top of the throttle body boot, or you can trace this to the ecu and wire it there. The blue wire goes to the positive of the meth injection pump. The ground of the methanol pump is crimped to the supplied ring terminal and ground out at the chassis.
