World Religions ProjectThe following assignment will cover the 5 major religions that dominate the world today. The religions of study are as follows: Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism. The assignment will begin with the teacher introducing the students to each religion and the key components. Each religion will take 2-4 days to cover. The students will then assemble in groups to research other key information and present the material to the class with full visual aids so that everyone will understand each religion. The following is a list of program information:Teacher’s role:Introduction of each religion.Assign and discuss the key terms per religion (people, places, vocabulary).Compare and contrast each religion.Student’s role:Develop an introductionName of the FounderHoly BookPlaces of worship/key religious sites.Religious groups/sects (ex. Islam: Sunni and Shiite)Religion’s beliefs on creation and afterlife.Key characters then and now (People that played a major role in the development, spreading, and or changes of the researched religion).Traditions ex. (clothing, food, holidays, and other important laws).Geographic impact (complete map that shows where the religion began and spread).Trials, tribulations, and key events (Adversity or obstruction that each faced).Complete chart that compares key tenets of each religion.Assessment for the class.
