A Message From Our President

May 7, 2010

MAY MEETING

DATE: Sunday, May 16, 2010

TIME: 1:00 p.m.

LOCATION: Society Headquarters, 60 Water Street, Mountainville

MEETING TOPIC: The Lindbergh Kidnapping – The Real Story

The “Crime of the Century” hits rural Hopewell, NJ. The body of the infant son of Charles Lindbergh is discovered in the Sourland Mountains. A national manhunt begins. Was this an “Inside” job? How was the perpetrator apprehended? Why did it take so long?

What effect did the media blitz have on the trial? Was the evidence manufactured? Did the right man die in the electric chair? Was the lone participant caught the only guilty party? Would modern forensic techniques have made a difference?

Come hear Tom Ainsworth answer these questions and explore the many theories and get the facts about the case that gripped the nation. Tom is a military history specialist and has been immersed and enthralled by our Nation’s History. He has a BA from Kean University in Speech-Theatre-Media.

Refreshments will be served at this meeting. Hospitality Chair Lyn Rahenkamp will gladly accept donations of food for the afternoon. Her number is 236-2892.
