see page 3 for more details.

Engaging with the community

The story so far

Hallwood Park & Palace Fields have been chosen to receive large scale investment from Riverside.

We are working with you, residents, community groups, partners and consultants to develop a neighbourhood renewal plan. This plan will encompass the whole community of Hallwood Park and Palace Fields, not just Riverside tenants, looking at how we can work with you to support the area to continue to grow.

Thank you to everyone who has been involved in our first phase of engagement. We have really enjoyed the opportunity to meet with so many of you and hear your thoughts.

Over 120 of you spoke to us at drop-in sessions in the community and at community group meetings. Many of you completed surveys either in person or online which we are now analysing to shape the development of the area renewal plan.

What you would like to see more of:

You told us you would like to see more of the following in your neighbourhoods, or for those facilities already there you would like to see them used more and open to more people across the community.

What you dislike:

You told us you disliked or would like to change the following in your neighbourhoods.

What we will do with this information:

We will read through everything you have told us in great detail. The above is just a selection of what you have told us, chosen at random. In the coming weeks we will come back to you to show you our reflections from the engagement including key themes and potential opportunities. 2

Community Chest Fund now open

?50k to be given to the community to deliver local projects

Riverside's Hallwood Park and Palace Fields Community Chest Fund is now open to support voluntary sector organisations, registered charities and local residents to do even more to build stronger communities across these two neighbourhoods. ?50k has been allocated for the Community Chest Fund and applications will be assessed on the impact the project will have on the lives of those who benefit. We are looking for projects that help make a change for those most in need in Hallwood Park and Palace Fields.

The closing date for applications is 5pm Friday 10 May 2019. For more information on the amount of funding eligible organisations can bid for, what you can apply for, who can apply, funding criteria, an application form and support with your application please visit: .uk/haltonlea

Myth Busting

Myth:

The community won't have any say in what happens. You'll only speak to certain people.

Fact:

We will consult with all the community to shape and develop the area renewal plan ? we need your local expertise on how you would like the area to change!

Myth:

The area renewal plan is all about building more homes.

Fact:

Supporting communities to grow doesn't work if it is only about homes ? the plan will look at what non-physical changes are needed as well as physical.

Myth:

You have had plans from the start and consultation won't change these plans.

Fact:

We started our consultation earlier this year asking you what you like and don't like about Hallwood Park and Palace Fields. This information will shape and develop the area renewal plan.

Myth:

You are only interested in Riverside's tenants.

Fact:

The plan will cover Hallwood Park and Palace Fields as a whole community.

Could you be a Community Champion?

We are looking for people who live and/or work in Hallwood Park or Palace Fields who would like to be a Community Champion for the area renewal plan. This would involve working with the Area Renewal Team to shape how people are involved in the development of the plan and to support the team to communicate information to your peers in the community.

We particularly want ideas on how we can get young people involved in shaping the plan and would welcome young people as community champions. Any thoughts you have on how we can engage with this group in particular would be really welcome.
