Your task is to write a story for students in the sixth grade who are learning about Ancient Greece and Rome.

Within your group you will divide the roles of content, editing, illustrating, and layout among the members.

(All members will be responsible for individual research and typing of the pages!!!!)

Duties of Role include the following...

Content Monitor-determines the historical significance and truthfulness of the research used in the book. Determines (with the Layout monitor) the content which the book will include.

Editor-overseeing the writing of the book, actual assembling of the book, and writing of the table of contents and bibliography. This is an important job requiring a great deal of responsibility.

-In addition will make sure book is not Plagiarized!

Illustrator-designing and illustrating the cover of the book, as well as providing suggestions and assistance on the pages of the book including what pictures will

be used in the publication.

Layout Monitor- design and plan the page by page layout of the book. Be sure to include room for pictures and text.

Duties of individual group members include:

-Find/organize information about individual topics

-Present/ display the information in such a manner so it is understandable for sixth graders while making sure it follows the story line developed in the class.

-Use illustrations, diagrams, and charts wherever possible.

- Write a Story not a Report in your own words.

Each group will be evaluated on the accuracy, clarity, and creativity of their stories as well as the individual and team effort for a total of 300 points

Members of the social studies department will also be asked to vote on the books. The authors of the book receiving the most votes will be given bonus points for the assignments.

Project Requirements & Rules:

1. All books will be typed unless approved by Mr. Meetze. Students will either use Power Point or Publisher to create their Finished Project which will be handed in on either a Flash Drive or Disc.

2. All books will have a cover page, table of contents, and bibliography for full credit. These pages Do Not Count Towards the Page Count!

3. For Every member of the group you will add 6 pages for the book. A Group of 3 will have a minimum of 18 pages in their book where as a group of 4 will have a minimum of 24.

4. The book will be produced in color and all pictures need to be appropriate and applicable to the assignment.

5. Students will help assess the amount each member of the group participated however Mr. Meetze will have the final judgement on the participation grade.

6. Late projects will receive ½ points max. No Exceptions!

7. Students will hand in 1 Grade sheet with the final Project.
