Homework is always listed on the agenda boards each week, as well as many classroom websites. Work turned in late will receive no more than a 60%, unless noted by the teacher. Please review this policy with your student as a 60% is a D-. Completing a task in a given time frame is a life skill.Absent Work: Students may check the agenda board and check with a classmate for what they have missed. It is the student’s responsibility to collect any work missed due to an absence. Absent work will not be marked late, however, students have 1 day makeup per 1 day absent. Any assignment handed in beyond that will be considered late. Please be aware that it may be difficult for students to make up the hands-on labs and experiences provided in the classroom.Agenda and Passes:Each student will receive 4 passes in each class at the beginning of a quarter.Expectations for Student Conduct: All students are expected to conduct themselves in a mature, respectful manner. Students and teachers will follow the BLUE rules:Be RespectfulLet’s Be ResponsibleUse Safe JudgmentExcellent AttitudeA classroom in which students behave in a positive manner is a classroom where the maximum amount of fun and learning can take place! Rewards:At the end of every quarter, students are rewarded for positive and appropriate behavior. Any student who earns the top citizenship of O or G in all their classes will be invited to a reward event. If a student earns a lower rating in even one of their classes, they will not be included in the reward. At times, students may watch a PG movie related to the curriculum or as a reward. Please indicate on the last page if you would not like your child to participate in watching movies rated PG.AwardsStudents will be invited to an end of the year awards event if they have all A’s in a class. Students earning a GPA of 3.7 or higher will be rewarded with a Celebration of Excellence award.Parent Portal:Grades can be checked at any time using the Parent Portal. Students and parents are encouraged to check grades weekly. Teachers post grades, comments and additional information about assignments in this location. You may also sign up for weekly emails. Time: BLUE time is time for students to accomplish studying, homework, or receive extra help from other teachers. It should be used as a work time and is not free time. If students do not have homework then they should use the time to study or silent read. Donations: Donations for classrooms are greatly appreciated.
