RULES
1. The Spelling Bee is conducted in rounds. Each speller remaining in the Spelling Bee at the start of a round spells one word in each round. The spelling bee will be conducted only orally.
2. The pronouncer pronounces the word and then the pupil must repeat the word before spelling it.
3. Once the pupil has started spelling the word, he/she may not start again from the beginning if the pupil has made a mistake.
4. The pronouncer strives to pronounce words clearly.
5. The pronouncer responds to the speller’s requests for a definition, sentence, part of speech, and alternate pronunciation(s).
6. The pronouncer may offer word information without the speller having requested that information if the pronouncer senses that the information is helpful.
7. The judges uphold the rules and determine whether or not words are spelled correctly. They are in complete control of the competition, and their decision is final on all questions.
8. The judges encourage spellers to face them when pronouncing and spelling the word.
9. The teachers ensure that all spellers and audience members are given an opportunity to receive a complete copy of the rules prior to the start of the Spelling Bee.
10. The judges intervene if they feel that clarification about the word is needed.
11. The speller gets one minute to spell the word from the time it is pronounced.
12. The judges will disqualify a speller who

15. If none of the spellers remaining in the Spelling Bee at the start of a round spells a word correctly during that round, all remain in the competition and a new round begins.
16. Tie breaker will be taken from extra words NOT from the list
