Tiger Quest Program Options

(Subject to Change)

• Battle of the Books- Students can read selected book titles and compete in a school wide challenge. Winners can advance to regional competitions.

• 7th and 8th Grade Math Counts- Motivated Math students will enjoy the challenge of this math competition. Meets weekly prior to competition day.

• 6th grade Math Masters- Students develop team problem solving strategies and work on fact drills. Teams of 5 compete at the Math Masters Competition in the spring.

• Science Olympiad- Students can participate in local/ regional science competitions

• Geography Bee- This competition challenges your geography skills. The school Geo Bee is held in January.

• Thinking Cap Quiz Bowl- This trivia contest is held twice a year. Teams of students work together to get the best score on questions in varying categories.

• Tiger Video Projects- Students will have the opportunity to film video and produce a DVD with imovie software.

• Online Classes- Students can explore a variety of online enrichment coursework.

• Model United Nations-Teams of students work together to represent a country’s point of view in a variety of debate situations/competitions.

• Book Groups- Students can participate in book groups throughout the year.

• Computer Programming Exploration- Students can develop games and animations through SCRATCH and ALICE during available RST times.

• CESA 11 Sponsored Programs: Examples include Math Workshops and Science Labs.

• Word Masters- Students compete with other schools to solve word analogies

• Special Projects- Students can work on ( independent or group) special projects for core classes.

• National History Day-Students can work on projects to submit to the National History Day Competition in the spring.

• RST Enrichment - Students can utilize RSTs to support and extend coursework or participate in enrichment activities in the Tiger Quest Resource Room.

• PAWS (Peers Achieve With Service)- Students can participate in many service projects throughout the year. Examples: Empty Bowls, Literacy Book Project, Animal Welfare, Intergenerational Project, etc.
