Students will beexpected to analyze, explain and research this era by:studying the cause and effects of the expansion and disintegration of the Roman Empire;studying the geographic, political, economic, religious and social structures of MedievalEurope, Medieval Africa, Medieval Japan, and the Renaissance;studying the origins, accomplishments, and historical developments of Medieval Europe, Medieval Africa, Medieval Japan, and the Renaissance;comparing and contrasting the similarities and differences of Medieval Europe, MedievalAfrica, Medieval Japan, and the Renaissance;*THIS CLASS FOLLOWS THE CALIFORNIA STATE STANDARDS & COMMON CORE CURRICULUM Class Rules:No talking without permission. Follow directions and stay on task.Be respectful and polite to everyone.4. No inappropriate comments or gestures. Procedures: Be on time.Have all necessary materials. Make an honest effort.Ask sensible questions at the appropriate time. Materials:Students should be prepared for each class with their Impact Social Studies textbook, Impact workbook,plenty of paper, pens/pencils, colored pencils and a History folder to keep tasks organized. Use of the Agenda Book: Students should use their planners on a regular basis to copy down their in-class and homework assignments. All homework is posted through Schoology with directions in thebeginning of the week (Tuesday) and due by the end of the week (most Friday’s).Absences- Regular participation in the Zoom classes can help benefit the learning process through dailylessons, activities and discussions. By not attending the Zoom meetings, classroom discussion is lost and effective work skills may diminish. Students are expected to clear their absences through the Attendance Office and responsible for their own make-up work. All missed in-class assignments should be turned in within 5 school days of the absence. Page 1Participation and Positive Behavior can be rewarded with class games, extra credit points and a positivephone call or letter to parents. Consequences for Misbehavior can result with a warning, a time-out in the Zoom waiting room, a parent phone call and/or a Referral. Academic Grades-Determined by Common Core writing assignments, assessments, group work, research tasks, Zoom in-class work, homework, etc. Late work will only be permitted at teacher’s discretion and will only receive partial credit. 100%-90% A 89%-80% B 79%-70% C 69%-60% D 59%- 0% FGrades for work habits and cooperation: E (Excellent), S (Satisfactory) and U (Unsatisfactory)Work Habits: This grade is based upon having the necessary supplies, level of participation and completion of assignments. Tutoring is available upon request on Monday’s from 12:15PM-1:15PM.
