Course Description: The focus of this course is the following eras/units:
Natural Texas & Its People Early Statehood
Age of Contact Civil War & Reconstruction
Spanish Colonial Cotton, Cattle, Railroads & Oil
Mexican National Texas, Early & Mid-20th Century
The Texas Revolution/Texas Republic Civil Rights, TX Leaders
The course correlates with history, government, geography, and economic TEKS that can be found on my teacher page.
Classroom Supplies: INDIVIDUAL: Spiral, planner, red pen for grading, highlighter
pencil for scantrons, black or blue pen for Quick Writes
GROUP SUPPLY: Liquid glue and colored pencils

Homework: Pre-AP Students should plan on homework 3-5 nights per week for this class and is due the next day unless otherwise specified.
Tutorial Information: A 5:00 bus will be available (hopefully)

Final Exam: Counts as 20% of Semester Grade
1st Semester: Dec. 14-18 (Review, Dec. 7-11)
2nd Semester: May 27, 31- June 2 (Review, May 23-26)
Attendance/Tardies : Attendance will be taken at the beginning of each class period. Students are expected to be in assigned seats with all materials by the bell. (And phones put away). If you are tardy, you will go to tardy station to get tardy slip. Consequences assigned by assistant principal.
Absences and Makeup Work: It is the student’s responsibility to check with the teacher the day following an absence for makeup work. Unit objectives and assessment dates will be posted on my WEEBLY. No work accepted after 3 weeks or end of grading period (whichever comes first).
