Grading Policy:

1. Homework / Cumulative Review/ Exit Ticket (25 %):

Homework is given every day (evaluated on neatness, organization, and effort). Students are expected to come prepared to class with homework and check answers to problems in the beginning of class or online. Remember – No Work, No Credit!

Cumulative reviews are assignments gaged toward strengthening current/ past material throughout the school year. These generally are 20 question assignments that students will have 1 week to complete.

Exit tickets are generally a one page quick assignment given at the conclusion of a lesson. Students are expected to complete their exit tickets in class or at home, depending on time. These assignments will be given as handouts or online using .

2. Tests and Quizzes (75%):

Tests and quizzes are given throughout each quarter. Quizzes will generally be assessing recent knowledge (1 or 2 topics) whereas the tests can be cumulative. Students will know ahead of time when tests and quizzes will be however, it is strongly encouraged not to wait to seek help if needed on a particular topic or math concept. Tests will be out of 100 points; quizzes will be out of 50 points.

• Individual tasks will receive letter grades that will be averaged together each quarter.

• When a student is absent, the due-date for missed assignments/tests will be extended by the number of days absent. Long-term projects are expected on time.

• Students homework will be checked daily. Complete/Incomplete assignments will be noted.

Extra Help Policy:

Extra help is available during lunch every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday (sign up). The student is to report to lunch for the first 20 minutes of the period then come up to extra help for the second half of the period. Extra help is also available by appointment before school every Tuesday at 7:15 am.

Notebook Format:

➢ Students will be given modules which contain all homework assignments and example problems for each concept. It is important not to lose this information as they are only given one copy.

➢ Students should have extra graph paper and lined paper in their notebook for any examples given or notes taken from class.

➢ When completing your homework you will write your name, date HW # and assignment on the top of a clean page in your notebook.

Agenda:

The following is expected to be in your agenda at all times:

1) All homework assignments and numbers will be written in your agenda at the beginning of class.

2) Two phone numbers of reliable students in your math class

3) Website

Helpful Hints:

1. Use the website below for assignments when absent and for other helpful information.



2. Copy notes that were missed during any absences from a reliable student or check the website online for the PDF File. Find out what you missed.

3. Studying a little bit each night is better than cramming for hours the night before a test.

4. Think! Try your best! Use all the resources available to you, including other classmates!



This year we will be using a site to keep you up to date with important things to remember. Cumulative review due dates, test and quiz dates, etc. will be sent to you via text or email if you so choose. Both students and parents may sign up. The information for this is below.
