Ron Neuman

Ron came from a very musical family making their home in Alberta, Canada. He started playing guitar in church at a very early age. In his late teens, he made his way to the USA, where he became a US Citizen. He became lead singer for a long admired Doo-wop Group out of the 50’s called The Diamonds. The Diamonds had some 16 Hit Records to their credit. The first major hit was “Little Darlin”. Ron has seen many changes in the group over the years that have lead them to become “The Newmans”. Ron and his wife Sue, make their home in Tucson Arizona. Sue has been directing “The Newmans” Show for over 25yrs. They met while Ron was on the road with “The Diamonds” in Washington State. In the early years, Ron sang Lead and played Bass Guitar for a Touring Gospel Group. John Felton, bass singer for The Diamonds saw Ron performing in a concert and approached him for the lead singers position in the Diamonds and the rest is History. Ron is an accomplished bass guitar player and rhythm player. He is also the manager for The Newmans. Today, Ron and his Guys bring not only the sounds of yesterday but a new fresh exciting presence to the stage that will leave you dancing in the Isles and shouting for more.

Steve Whittier

Steve “Mr. Talent” born and raised in Dayton, Ohio is an accomplished percussionist. For 11 years he toured with the Air Force Military Band throughout Europe and the USA. Steve’s ability as a studio musician, percussionist, and singer has led him to join “The “Newmans” some 13 yrs ago. Steve started out as “The Newmans” drummer and very quickly worked himself into the front line singing bass. After successfully singing on several recordings, he stepped into the baritone position and covers both the bass lines and baritone position with great ease. His dry sense of humor and quick wit keeps all on their toes. One of Steve’s enjoyments is driving the tour bus just to see how many people he can scare. Steve is in charge of “The Newmans” Band on and off stage making sure every member is at peak performance.

Mike Liddick

Mike comes to the “The Newmans” from a very musical family background. Spending most of his childhood through High School in Southern Michigan, singing in Church where his father was the Pastor. While in High School, Mike began showing his great love and talent for music by being chosen to sing in the School Chorus which took the State Honor Chorus several years in a row. Mike proceeded to Indiana Wesleyan University where he graduated with a degree in Vocal Music and Arts. Mike is an accomplished piano player, guitarist and vocal arranger. While traveling in several ensemble groups for the University, Mike toured Scotland, France, England and throughout the United States. A few stops were the Crystal Cathedral, Hour of Power, and sang at the Bill Gaither’s Praise Gathering. Mike’s Vocal abilities have taken “The Newmans” to a new fresh height in sound and as their writer/arranger for the group; you can expect some fun exciting sounds coming, although, Mike will tell you, he loves “Those Oldies But Goodies”. It’s hard to find this much fun, talent and professionalism in one place.

Bill McCarty

“Baritone Bill”, as we call him, a talented baritone singer, friend, brother, and exceptional entertainer came as no lightweight to “The Newmans”. Bill hails from Northern California moving to the Pacific NW at an early age. His music career started at the early age of 14 playing his bass guitar and singing in local bands and eventually joining the world famous “Essex” Rock and Roll Group out of the Pacific NW. His passion for growth in the music business lead him to Study for his Music Major at St Martins Collage, Olympia, WA, studying Directing, Writing, and Teaching. Bill’s education served him well as in the early 80’s he had the opportunity to join the remaining members of the “World famous Diamonds”, singing baritone for the “The Diamonds Vocal Band”, later changing their name to “The Newmans”. Bill’s rich baritone voice and talented entertainment ability enhanced “The Newmans” quartet sound to where it is today. While touring throughout the United States, Playing Casino’s, Conventions, Universities, Fairs., you could find Bill and “The Newmans” sharing the stage with such World Famous Artists as:: America, Bobby Bear, The Belamy Brothers, The Birds, Roy Clark, Charlie Daniels, The Ventures, Merilee Rush, CCR, The Kingsman, Brenda Lee, The Hermans Hermits, Mitch Rider and the Detroit Wheels, The Turtles and the list goes on.
