In December 1967, Jay left Korea and was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, as the executive officer of a 105 mm howitzer battery. In February 1968, his brigade deployed to Vietnam during the Tet Offensive. He returned home from Vietnam in June 1968. ................
