Text: A First Course in Probability Theory, Seventh Edition, S. Ross.
Course description: The course is a fast-paced introduction to probability. We will cover most of Chapters 1-8 of the textbook. Additional topics may also be covered.
Course Prerequisites: A one-year course in calculus.

Homework: There will be weekly homework assignments, generally due on Wednesdays in class. No late homework will be given full credit except in the case of serious illness or a family crisis.
Exams: There will be a midterm and a final. The midterm will be held Wednesday, October 26th in class. The final will be held on Thursday, December 15th from 9am-11am.
Grading: Grades will be based 30% on homework, 30% on the midterm and 40% on the final.
Help: Tutoring help is provided by the Statistics Department. Check the departmental website () for the location and time of the StatLab.
Friday lunch with professor: I’m free most Fridays to have lunch with students to get to know you better. Please let me know if you would like to have lunch on a Friday.
