You have examined how language features, including the use of description and evaluative language, can help to evoke a sense of time and place. TASKImagine your class is writing letters to a future Year 6 class at your school, to coincide with the 200th anniversary of Queensland becoming a State in 2059. Your letter will be sealed and preserved, ready to be handed to a student in that class.Create a letter that shares your experiences and evokes a sense of the present place and time. Step 1: Plan your letterConsider the following example topics. Keep in mind that your correspondence will be read in the future, and needs to convey a sense of what it is like to live in Queensland and your town or city in the historical context of when you write your letter.Choose a topic/s that allows you to provide meaningful information and that conveys a sense of the historical context in which the letter is written.
