Songbook - Carnegie Mellon School of Computer Science

Until He comes again 126

Unto Thee O Lord, do I life up my soul. 210

Water you, water you 99

We all with unveiled face 231

We can call O Lord 37

We love the church life 125

We love thee, we love Thee 182

We treasure Thee, Lord Jesus 179

We work together with God by a life 136

What is life, what is it for? 120

What made You die for me? 169

What made You, Lord to die for me? 169

What’s the use? There is no hope for me 150

When I’ve run the race before me 201

When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion 220

When we believe into the Son 189

When you say Lord 166

Whene’er I call Lord Jesus 92

Where is He, my Jesus? 165

Where’s the answer? 149

Wherever you go, I will go 117

Who’s like our Jesus, He’s all we desire! 182

Who coverest Thyself with light as with a garment 217

Why does it take us so long 103

With the brothers and the sisters 68

Within my heart a praise o’erflowing 66

“Within the Veil”: be this, belov’d thy portion 205

Wonderful One, Son with the Father 185

Worthy is the Lamb Who has been slain to receive 157

You have reached me again 191

Your love constrains me to give my all to You 13

Your soft voice, Your lovingkindness 61

Zion is God’s habitation 184

2 The Triune God is forever,

Forever to be

The life supply in my spirit;

He’s dwelling in me!

The Father in the Son came

Displayed for all to see;

The Son as Spirit flows now

To flow God into me.

3 I’m calling His name “Lord Jesus”;

He’s coming in my heart.

He’s spreading out from my spirit

To all my inward parts.

The more I contact daily,

The more my heart Christ’s home,

And with the saints I’m built up

Into the church, Christ’s home!

O the joy to hear Your call

C D

And enter in the Ark.

Saving us from day to day

C D

O Lord this is Your way.

In Yourself we stay afloat,

C D G – G7

Above this wicked age today.

C D G Em

Thank you Lord, in Your eyes we find grace,

C D G – G7

And with open hearts we come to You.

C D G Em

Regardless what our friends might say to us or do,

C D G – C – G

O Lord Jesus, we love You.

2 Seeking of this age to taste,

And of it have a part

If we only knew Dear Lord,

The ways we grieve Your heart.

We would come and turn to You

With a repenting heart

And would give ourselves to be

With you O Lord, inside the Ark.

3 Praise You Lord, we’re safe in You;

Outside death-waters pour.

Many things that I once loved

Are on the ocean floor.

Keep us open to you Lord,

Don’t let us miss the mark.

Hallelujah, Praise the Lord,

We’re here within the church, the Ark.

I always knew deep down in me 32

I am crucified with Christ 234

I am the vine, you are the branches 228

I am young and I’m in love 162

I believe He gives life to the dead 229

I believe, so I speak 167

I call His name, “Lord Jesus 28

I called upon thy name O Lord 29

I do not know where they have laid Him 165

I have a seed of life in me 113

I have often called on the Lord before 140

I just existed empty 76

I keep fallin’ in love with Him 146

I love God with all my heart 65

I love You, Jesus, precious Lord 160

I love You, Lord (I love You Lord 164

I love You, Lord Jesus 16

I love You, Lord Jesus, You’re worthy of my life 62

I need You, dear Lord Jesus 145

I need You, Lord 180

I need You, Jesus 180

I once was dead, dead in my sins 79

I wake up this morning , Lord 112

I want to tell You Lord, how much You mean to me 202

I will enter His gates with thanksgiving in my heart 216

I’ll be raptured into glory 201

I’m for the Lord 80

I’m gonna praise God unceasingly 31

I’m loving Jesus, this lovely Person 22

I’m pressing on the God-man way 108

I’m walking down the road 68

I’ve found the One who’s all to me 128

I’ve given up the world because 80

If I would only stray a bit 45

If it is Lord Thy desire 71

If therefore you were raised together with our Christ 238

If you are empty, wondering why you exist 119

If you are hungry, come to the feast 75

If you wish to find the Lord, do not seek Him in the world 93

In His shadow have I rapture and sit down 192

In my heart there springs a melody 66

In my spirit, I can see You as You are 115

In our life, in all we do and say 123

Is there someone who’s a friend 174

It’s a new, living meeting that we’re having today 137

It’s no longer I that liveth 235

Every verse reveals Yourself to me 91

Everybody ought to know 170

Everything under the sun is vanity 193

Fallen in her condition 67

Fallen, that’s the way we all begin 70

Father God, forgive me if I groan 9

Father, I know that all my life is portioned out for me 130

First man Adam, then temptation 133

For me, You were mocked and crucified 42

For the Lord is a great God 215

For we know that when we turn to our spirit 110

For whatever promises of God there are 230

Forgetting the things which are behind 138

Forever He will be 206

From my heart comes a melody 47

From my spirit, when I’m sensing the supply 99

From the rising of the sun 219

From the throne of our God and the Lamb 233

From the time I spoke Your Name 63

2 Life is not created

As man’s body, soul, and spirit –

That’s man’s life that’s weak and temporal.

Life is uncreated.

It’s divine and it’s eternal.

And this is the life that’s indestructible.

3 And this life came in us

In our spirit through the Spirit;

This is where we were made alive!

Now this life is spreading.

Lord, don’t stop – just keep invading.

For this, Lord, we must be daily revived.

4 Life needs our maintaining,

Otherwise we’re suffocating.

Calling on His name we breathe Him in.

Everywhere we breathe Him,

Makes us fresh and makes us living.

O, this life is full of hope and meaning.

5 In our daily living

It’s this life that we are sensing.

Are we in the flesh or in the Lord?

If you’re dead and empty

And the troubles you have plenty,

Saints, get out of there and flee back to the Lord!

Set your mind on the things that are above

F G C

Not on the things which are on the earth.

2 We should seek the things that are

in heaven with our Christ

Things like knowing Christ as life,

He’s everything to us.

We take Christ as life and walk in Him

We take Christ as life and walk in Him.

3 Set your mind on the things above

not on the things on earth

For you died and now your life

is hidden with Christ in God.

Now our lives are hidden with Christ in God.

Now our lives are hidden with Christ in God.

Set your mind on the things which are above.

1 Lord, You have searched me and You have known me

You understand my thoughts from afar!

D A E

You comprehend my path and are acquainted with all my ways

For there is not a word on my tongue,

Search me O God, and know my heart

D E

Try me and know my anxieties

A

D E

2 Lord, You have touched me and You have shown me

That I am not so simple as I thought.

I often run and hide, prone to an errant heart.

But there is not a pause and You pursue!

And behold You’ve caught me altogether!

Where can I go from Your Spirit, O Lord?

I can’t flee from Your presence, You’re inside me.

I’ve climbed the steep mountains, but You still are there,

Descend to the valleys but You find me.

3 Now I see, there’s something more to this pattern:

You want to show me all that You are.

So You’ve drawn me from this strife, into the family life.

As one, our prayers can match Your deep desires.

Now behold we follow You together!

D A

1 Dearest of all is He,

D A7 D – D7

The One I love the best;

G D

‘Tis Him we all must seek,

A7 D

And rely on Him at last.

2 Supplying all my need,

In weakness He sustains;

Fairest of fair to me

Ever faithful He remains.

3 He, our joy endlessly,

The same through every test;

Dearest of all is He;

He’s the One I love the best.

Lord, take my life, I give it, Lord to You.

You have opened my eyes, Lord, and turned me to You.

G D F#m Bm

You are my Creator, O Lord, how I love You.

D F#m

1 Lord, so often I’m like Thomas

G A

Who would not receive:

D F#m G A

“Unless I see Your face, Lord, I would not believe…”

G A D Bm

But then You would appear… “My Lord and my God”

G A D

Saying, Blessed are they who see not, yet believe.

2 I have someone deep within me welling up in me each day.

Even though I have not seen Him

in such an outward way

“Whom having not seen, I love, I love, oh so much.

And by having His life, yes, I believe.”

(Chorus)

3 Day by day I look forward

to that time I spend with You.

Just as Mary poured her love out, O Lord, I would too.

Grant me, Lord, a heart that is single and true.

And a daily life that’s living just by You.

4 So when daily I see trials and tribulations soar,

May I put my trust in You, Lord,

“For Christ has gone before”

And open to Your living Word, receiving faith –

Reach me, Lord, with Your mercy and Your grace.

(Chorus)

“Within the Veil,” thy soul with Him united,

Em

The overflowing life divine,

A D D7

Nourishing my spirit so –

G A

Bringing the Triune God’s fullness,

F#m Bm

In spirit operates and moves,

Em A

Bringing me all of His supply –

D

Life as my supply.

2 Oh, this precious life divine

Is the Triune God Himself!

All He is and all He has

Are all concealed in this life.

God’s life into my spirit comes,

Mingling with me in life as one –

Wisdom, pow’r, holy righteousness

Are my experience.

3 The outflow of life divine –

Manifested in His Son;

In Him is the life divine,

Savior He’s of everyone.

Life of all lives – unique is He,

And He release His life to me

That this life I ever may gain –

Yes, His life divine!

4 The release of life divine

The life-giving Spirit is;

The working of life divine

In my spirit operates;

He is the wonderful ointment

In my spirit, anointing me

With His compounded elements –

Pervading through me.

And severed all its ties;

The way may yet more narrow grow

And all against me rise.

I seek His smiling face.

Though outward glory others choose.

I, His “well done” through grace.

4 My heart’s desire is not for fame

Nor profit in these days;

I humbly wish to serve my Lord

And gain that day His praise.

5 Unto the judgement seat of Christ

I daily look away;

May all my living and my work

Abide the fire that day.

6 You may your reputation hold,

Wealth, friends, and glory gain;

You may win all success and praise,

A foll’wing great obtain.

7 But I would be but lonely, poor,

With no prosperity;

My heart desires to follow Him

And finish faithfully.

3 The high peak of revelation,

Makes my heart glad, spirit heavy,

I need pow'r of resurrection,

And the real recovery;

I'm learning to walk in spirit,

Sowing always unto Spirit,

God's corp'rate model exhibit,

Practicing just as our Lord did.

4 His Spirit with mine co-living,

To self dying, to God living,

Sin, flesh and the world escaping,

Soul life losing, God gaining!

Make us overcomers, dear Lord!

'Tis our goal, life's only meaning,

With Christ in His kingdom reigning

With all saints in God-man living.

You were broken on the cross for me, dear Lord.

All Your being, life and love for me was poured.

Precious One, You are the One that I adore…

3 Make me, Lord, a fragrance true,

As a garden filled, with Your spices new.

Transform me, Your Bride to be,

2 In the church, we all can apprehend

All the riches of this life that is within.

Not just shallowness with strife,

But a deep and peaceful life

Is just waiting to flow out, a living spring.

With the saints it’s easy to be bold,

To pursue this life, to gain it, to lay hold.

All the other things we find,

Must be quickly left behind,

So that only life remains for us to see.

3 Deeper, Lord our turn must be to You;

We would move by life in everything we do;

All our concepts refute,

For Your life be absolute ---

Grant us grace to turn much deeper day by day.

When we touch our spirit --- such a thrill!

This is far beyond emotion, mind, and will ---

It’s within our hidden part ---

Come, make home in all our heart;

Let Your presence flow as rivers deep within.

1 Lord, I seek Your will

F G

And Your will alone.

C Am

Though there’s times I hold my ground

F G

And block the way.

F G

Lord wait longer than I

Em Am

Until Your way You’ve gained,

F G C

Until Your way You’ve gained.

2 This naturalness within

Disguises my intentions.

It’s a mixture of soul.

Show me where You lie

And I’ll discover there

Alone my hearts true delight,

Alone my hearts true delight.

3 May I not rush the night

Though signs I may not see

Yet Lord I trust You will

End my soulish source

And with the morning light

Resurrection will remain,

Resurrection will remain.

4 So I resign this day

The ruling of my life

Lord, You will meet my need.

Faithful unto God

You make me so content

When Your heart’s satisfied.

When Your heart’s satisfied.

Our life, our enjoyment, our peace, and our rest:

Thy name be our theme and Thy love be our song;

Thy love has inspired both our heart and our tongue!

3 Jesus, our Jesus, how can we express

Thy dearness, so precious, and Thy loveliness?

When we see Thy beauty, all else fades away –

All shadows must flee at the breaking of day!

1 The divine dispensing starts with the Father.

G A

He selected us ‘ere the world began.

G A D

Predestinated to be His sons

A A7 D

Through His rich life dispensing.

2 The Son accomplished the Father’s purpose

By His redemption of fallen man

Through His own blood and according to

The riches of God’s grace.

3 The Spirit’s sealing, the application

It works within us to permeate

And transform us with God’s element

Unto our full redemption.

4 The Spirit’s pledging is just a foretaste

Of our divine inheritance.

It guarantees the full taste of God

As our eternal portion.

5 We thank You Father, Son, and Spirit

For all the blessings we have received.

We’ve given nothing, yet You give all.

How worthy of our praise!

Since I called on the only one who’d save me.

When forsaken, in despair –

Who’d have thought that You’d be there!

G D A D [D7]

Now I’ve found out, Jesus, You’re alive!

2 All my friends might think it’s square –

Since I touched You, I don’t care –

For I’ve found You’re the only life worth living.

Though some mock and criticize,

Lord, they just don’t realize

That I’ve found out, Jesus, You’re alive!

G

Now my eyes begin to see

I’m living as I ought to be,

As this turning, burning God

I just know that this is real,

And I know, oh Jesus, You’re alive!

3 It’s no statue that I call,

Not a picture on the wall,

But a Person who lives His life within me.

Wish they’d told me long before,

All You want is an open door

And that really, Jesus, You’re alive!

G D C – D

My mind, emotion, will;

G D C D

I will not give You rest until

G D G

You all my being fill.

2 Though oft harassed by sin and self

I come before Thee, Lord.

I stand upon Thy righteousness

And thank Thee for Thy blood.

‘Tis mercy all that in Thy light

My wretched self I see.

So shameful, sinful, dark; yet I

Still dare to come to Thee

3 For I have seen a glimpse of Thee

And briefly touched Thy throne.

All beauty, glory, radiance, light

Belong to Thee alone.

Brief moments in Thy presence, Lord

Thy love hath granted me.

My soul and spirit burn within

Each time I gaze on Thee.

4 But often I am far from Thee

My heart doth often stray

And wanders after worthless things

Or sin besets my way.

Yet still I long to know Thee more,

Jesus, Lord Jesus!

Let me call You all day long.

To the world that’s something wrong.

Your precious name, the sweetest song.

4 Jesus, Lord Jesus!

Oh, the devil’s trembling!

When we all start calling

The enemy we’re crushing!

Jesus, Lord Jesus!

Lord You’re not a doctrine

In the mind for thinking

But Your dear name’s so refreshing!

5 Jesus, Lord Jesus!

How I love to touch You!

It’s by calling on You!

No other one will do!

Jesus, Lord Jesus!

As I call, I’m drinking,

Triune God partaking.

Lord, You’re my cup of salvation!

Jesus, Lord Jesus!

Jesus, Lord Jesus!

But now I am enjoying.

To really know Thy grace

And share in all Thy heart’s desire,

The meaning of the cross;

To die to self, to live to God

To count all things as loss.

And have my being in Thee,

To labor, strive and fight in Thee

For Thine economy.

Step by step this song I raise;

O perfect peace, Christ now abides in me;

Welling up in psalms of praise.

Where the vict’ry song we’ll sing;

O what an honour, reigning with the Lord;

Living water flowing free;

The tree of life with fruits abundant, sweet,

Satisfies eternally.

I now possess Your divinity

In life and nature we’re the same:

Both human and divine.

Chorus 2: In Your love I’m drawn

To You I belong

I am not my own, Lord

I’m Yours alone.

By Your love I’m drawn

In Your name I’m charmed

And Your Person captured me

For I’ve been kissed by Thee.

In all my being – transforming

To be Your bride and queen.

We had no choice, we were trapped by You, Lord;

We had no place we could run.

Who could I blame, Lord, but Thee?

I cannot do all the things that they do

Because You set me apart.

Loving You’s a tender trap.

Since You have touched me, my heart has melted;

All my resistance has cracked.

But love and mercy.

Your love, dear Lord, has conquered me.

Waiting for me with Your loving care.

How could I still remain Your enemy?

Your love, dear Jesus, disarmed me.

Trapped in a wheel of human anxiety.

You are caught, you’re in the web already.

You’re spun to this song: you’re just the spider’s prey.

Jesus crushed the devil and overcame evil.

That kingdom He leveled and destroyed the devil.

He will free you from sin, from death, world and Satan.

Just call “Oh Lord Jesus” and He will enter in.

“Good morning”, “How are you?”, “No, there

is nothing wrong.”

You’re swept by the world of deceptive vanity,

A tide looking good, but it’s void of reality.

Just call “Oh Lord Jesus”: the truth you’re confessing

That God raised this Jesus from among the dead.

Your heart this believing, just call to receive Him.

He’s Jesus the Savior, your great salvation

That all would prophesy of Christ

from what they’ve seen,

According to Your scripture in first Corinthians 14.

3 O Lord, we pray

Increase Thyself in us each day

And the “self” – decrease it ‘til it’s done away.

Lord, we want the growth in life

We don’t want all the strife.

Two spirits mingled into one

Day by day, walk in the spirit and we’ve won!

Then the “self” will be decreased

1 Now God's Kingdom has been planted in our hearts

D

As the wonderful seed sown in us.

Bm F#m Bm

It is Jesus Christ, who all He is imparts

A E7 A – A7

As the seed of the Kingdom in us!

D A7

Oh, He's the seed of the Kingdom in us,

D

He's the wonderful seed sown in us!

B7 Em

In our spirit sown, in us to be full-grown ---

D A7 D – G – D

He's the seed of the Kingdom in us!

2 Human generations form the history

Of the wonderful seed sown in us.

Mingled with the Triune God's divinity

Is the seed of the Kingdom in us.

3 Jesus' name means this: "Jehovah's saving us,"

He's the wonderful seed sown in us.

And so now we call Him our Jehovah-Plus,

He's the seed of the Kingdom in us.

4 "Emmanuel" means it's God Himself with us

As the wonderful seed sown in us.

No more simply God, Emmanuel is God-Plus ---

That's the seed of the Kingdom in us.

5 We have all we need to live the kingdom life

In the wonderful seed sown in us.

Hallelujah! Now we give up all our strife,

For the seed of the Kingdom's in us.

4 Oh God, where are You?

I need You desperately!

Oh God, who are You?

Why don’t You answer me?

The heavens declare You and the earth

shows Your beauty.

But I’m a man. Oh God, I’m so empty!

Lord, have mercy! I’m crying for You!

Please hear! Are You really true?

I’m dark and lonely. You’re far,

far from me.

Oh Lord, I need You desperately!

5 One day a friend told me

that Jesus is the Lord.

To my great surprise,

it’s written in the Word.

They asked me to believe You.

Your name I once blasphemed.

Dear Lord, You saved me

just by calling on Your name.

Oh, Lord Jesus, dear Son, so glorious,

I’m cleansed and You enter into me.

Oh, Lord Jesus, Your name most precious!

Your Person, dear Lord, I now possess.

Warning deep inside me

that I was living a lie.

3 The world and its glitter left me anxious,

dark and bitter,

Always yearning, my friends

is there something better?

And religion, my friends,

is just a Sunday game –

Dead teachings and doctrines

will leave you just the same.

Then I’ve got to open up and water you.

Water you, water you

G Em – A

From the flowing in my spirit water you;

D D7

When the saints need my supply,

G Em

Then I’ll surely testify,

D A D

I’ll stand up, release my Christ and water you!

2 In the meeting, when the spirit’s rising high,

And it seems like we will go beyond the sky –

I can’t help it, I must speak or else I’ll die,

For my Christ is rising up to water you.

3 Should a pause come, or the meeting ebb real low,

While within me there’s a rich and living flow,

Then I’ll stand up, so that all the saints will know,

That I’m here to share my Christ and water you.

4 In the church life, in our daily living too,

In the meeting, and in everything we do,

Christ is speaking and the Spirit’s breaking through,

That is why there’s the supply to water you.

It's nothing like religion teaches,

F C

"You have to wait until you die."

F

For the Kingdom Christ is building,

C F C

Is here on earth before our eyes.

2 His Son, Jesus, is our Savior.

Once in human form He came.

Now as the Spirit He can enter

As the breath of life to man.

As a seed within our spirit

Christ takes root and starts to grow,

Spreading in our inmost being

Till His life we come to know.

3 As we pour upon Him,

This is not just a waste

But a fragrant testimony

Of the sweetness of the Lord.

The Lord loving us

And we loving Him:

This the fragrance

Of our love offering.

4 Throughout the past centuries,

Tens of thousands of precious lives,

Heart treasures, golden futures

Have been wasted upon the Lord.

To such lovers,

He’s altogether lovely

And ultimately worthy

Of their costly ointment.

5 We must love the Lord

And grasp the opportunity.

Yes, love Him to the uttermost:

A fragrance sweet to God and man.

The Lord loving us

And we loving Him:

This the fragrance

Of our love offering.

6 Lord Jesus, we just love You.

Our life and all we pour on You.

We waste ourselves upon You.

In this universe we just love You.

We can’t help but love You,

You’re the greatest value.

Our love is just an issue

Of our seeing of You.

And we like Mary,

One is salvation,

The other consecration.

Lord, we pour out

All our love offering.

3 Time is short, oh brothers hear it.

Christ is longing for His Bride.

We can hasten His returning,

Simply by the growth in life.

No more struggling, no more striving,

Simply turn to Christ within.

See the seed begin to blossom,

Growing fully into Him.

Jesus Christ will get His Kingdom

By growing in a normal way.

It's not an instant transformation.

This growth goes on from day to day.

The seed of life is all-inclusive.

It's got everything we'll ever need.

Yes, our God's eternal purpose

Is all within this precious seed.

D Bm

1 The Bible is a romance

G D

In the most holy sense:

Bm

God and His chosen people

Em A

In love it so presents.

Em G D

This Universal Couple

G D A

Throughout it is displayed;

Bm G

God in Christ is the Bridegroom,

A D

His saints, the Bride, portrayed.

2 Through shadows, types, and figures,

God’s deepest thought is known;

As typified by Adam,

The Husband, Christ, is shown.

A rib brought forth from Adam

Reveals the source of life

By which God built a woman:

Eve, as the church, His wife.

3 To be His people’s Husband,

To take them as His wife:

This is what God desires

To live in marriage life.

Their sacrifice and worship

Alone could not content;

But with them to be married

Was God’s foremost intent.

4 This romance is the finest

As seen in the Song of Songs;

For her beloved’s kisses

His seeking lover longs.

Love’s work in her produces

Let me pour the ointment pure

On Your head and on Your feet,

On You, most precious One,

Because You love me.

4 Let my love from my being wash Your feet

To my glory without wipe them too

Let me kiss them where the nails would pierce.

All my love, Lord, and glory I’ll waste on You.

I love You!

Jesus, I love You!

All my glory and love I pour

and waste on You.

Receive my ointment, Lord.

It’s all I have, dear Lord.

For You, most precious One,

Because I love You.

Of great value to anoint Your feet

(Chorus 1)

3 Lord, they said if You were a prophet,

You should know who and what I am.

I’m a sinner that toucheth You.

A woman not worthy to anoint You.

But I love You!

Jesus, I love You!

You forgave me the most

now I love You, Lord, the most.

No person of her own,

But she becomes the City,

Her Person, Christ alone.

The issue of His side,

And person fully one,

His counterpart forever,

The New Jerusalem.

A

You were made with something deep within,

D

A vessel to contain just Him.

2 Deep within you is your spirit,

Even deeper than your “heart”;

Many other things can fill you –

Only Jesus can fill this part.

You have been so empty all these years;

In spite of all you’ve tried, you’re still not satisfied.

Don’t you feel a longing deep within

To open up and take Christ in?

3 Doesn’t matter how you see things,

For in God’s eyes “all have sinned”;

Jesus shed His blood to cleanse you

For the purpose of getting in.

He’s done everything there is to do,

And He’s the Spirit now so He can get in you.

Makes no difference what your past has been;

The living Christ will still come in.

4 Just as you are in your body,

Perfectly contained therein,

God wants you for His container,

All you need to do is let Him in.

Would you open up from deep within

To let the Lord come in and fill you to the brim.

Why not open up from deep within

And call upon the name of Him.

The only way that we’ll be one is Jesus!

The only way for Him to gather us,

Is by our EATING, DRINKING, BREATHING JESUS!

Tune: Hymns 396 (I’m pressing on the upward way)

G C

1 I’m pressing on the God-man way,

G D

New Christ I’m gaining every day,

G C

Still groaning through this world of strife,

G D G

I want to live a God-man life!

G D

Lord grow in me! You are the seed,

D7 G

Of God-man life; You’re all I need.

G7 C

In all my heart, I give You ground.

G D G

Lord, may Your life in me abound!

2 My heart has no desire to stay,

On hardened ground, in the world’s way.

Satan no more shall steal Your Word,

I’ll move my heart where You are heard!

3 I want to deal with rocks in me

From hidden sins, I would be free.

My heart I would clear up through prayer,

I’ll gain more depth to root You there!

4 The choking thorns, us barren make,

The life seed soon they’ll overtake.

Riches, anxiety reject,

Just for God’s growth the ground protect!

5 The sun must shine for us to grow,

So persecution we will know.

When it seems more than we can bear,

Lord, help us drink You deeply there!

Loving Her, following Her,

Living for Her,

Together with all saints

Are built as God's delight;

Waiting for Him to come

For His glorious Bride.

6 As I dwell in You, Lord, You’re flowing through.

Lord, You’re filling me, overflowing too.

Here we all are one and expressing You.

Here our joy is full as we dwell in You.

1 Timothy Chapter 1, Footnote 11

G D C

1 The faith is the economy, the economy of God

G C D

The household administration, the dispensing of our God

G D C

The truth is the content, the reality of the faith,

G D C – D

According to God’s economy.

G D

Godliness is a living that expresses

C G

The divine reality,

D

An expression of God in all His riches

C G

His Body corp’rately.

2 Healthy teaching, words, and speaking

Are the ministry of the truth,

Ministering into people the reality of these truths;

Eternal life is the means and the power to carry out,

The divine realities of the faith;

3 Faith is the response to the truth of the faith

Conscience is a test and a check to preserve us

in the faith.

The faith is the economy, the economy of God,

The household administration, the dispensing of our God;

4 The faith, the truth, expressed in healthy words,

Carried out in power by His life

Expressed in Godly living responded to by faith,

Kept and held in check by our conscience.

133

G C

1 First man Adam, then temptation;

D C G

Lots of trouble there for you and me;

C

Time for praying, trusting Jesus,

D C G

Full salvation, just open up your heart.

D

Lord I call, take me home

C D

To the place where I belong;

G D

Love and oneness in your family,

C G

Take me home, precious Lord.

2 Where’s the answer? Who can find it?

Must be somewhere, you feel it in your bones.

Where to turn to? Who will guide you?

Who will love you when you are all alone?

3 Hear the gospel, words of wisdom,

They’re not lying, Jesus died for all;

Heart of granite, empty vessel,

Stop your running, there’s nowhere left to go.

115

D G D

1 In my spirit, I can see You as You are –

G D

You’re the Alpha, Omega, the Bright and Morning Star.

A D

Here You’ll stay, just as a flow within

A D

To occupy my heart and spread Your life within ---

A – G A

In my spirit --- You’re all in all to me …

2 In my spirit, I can see You in the church;

It’s Your heart’s desire, for it a people You will search.

Here I’ll stay, within Your perfect will,

Built up into a home, Your glory here to fill

In the church --- I must no longer roam.

A

In my spirit, is the key,

G A D

No longer need I worry right or wrong;

A

In the church, reality ---

G A D

Rooted, grounded in Your plan where I belong.

3 In Your purpose, we just flow along in life.

It’s so simple, no more unrest and strife.

In the churches, we just enjoy You, Lord.

Here You can build us up, for we’re in one accord,

In the churches --- we know You’ll be back soon.

(Repeat chorus and 3rd verse)

116

Am F C

1 Oh, my Lord, I give myself to You –

D F

There’s nothing else to do,

Em E

My world is over now!

Am F C

All the world lies in the evil one,

D F

But I’m the Father’s son;

Em E

His love has met my need.

F Em Dm C

Lord, I give myself to You completely;

Lord, I need to sense the flow of life.

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,

Dm Em E

I love you, I really do!

2 Lord, I long to have You flow in me.

My heart could never be

Content with less than You.

Deep within, my heart cries out to You,

Hungry and thirsty too

For that sweet flow of life.

3 Shining One, in me direct Thy rays,

Shine through all false displays;

Let me not be deceived.

Lord, I know, I need Thy light to shine,

How else can I be Thine?

You must enlighten me.

4 Cleanse me now; don’t let one sin remain.

I cannot be the same;

Your life is all I need.

Oh forgive my failure and my sin.

Make me so clean within

So You can flow in me.

And proclaim your declaration

“Jesus, be my full salvation, be my life!”

Now you’ve touched Him, so cry out, “Hallelujah!”

As He fills you, cry aloud, “Oh my Lord!”

“Jesus Lord, you are much more than I ever dreamed

or longed for,

Take my life, Lord, I belong to you!”

132

C Dm G F C

1 Born of my father, descended from Adam,

Em Am D7 G

A life in my flesh is God’s enemy.

C F C Am Dm

I have inherited God’s condemnation,

G C F G7 C

Death and sin were reigning in me.

2 But love eternal appeared and He called me,

Out from the lost and hopeless race.

Into His Son now I have been transferred,

Born of the Spirit, into His grace.

3 I am God’s child now, free to enjoy Him.

The Spirit of life is reigning in me.

Christ is my walking, my living, my breathing,

All that I have and ever will be.

4 Chosen and guided into His purpose,

From individual to corporate man.

Now in His Body, we can experience

All the unlimited grace of His plan.

5 This is the mystery hidden from ages.

For this God brought us from sinner to son.

Practical church life, daily transforming

Into the oneness, God’s expression.

131

G7 D

1 Now this was once my situation,

G

Wanting to be a sensation,

D A7

In my fellows’ estimation quite a guy!

D D7

But all I met was great frustration,

G

And the endless aggravation

D A7 D – G – D

Of those unseen complications in myself.

G

And it made me want to say, “It’s a raw deal!”

D A

And it made me want to think, “Only if….”

D D7

And I wonder everyday,

G

“Is there anything to living,

D A

‘cept to slowly die and dream of someday!”

2 But then I had a confrontation,

With a joyful delegation,

They were filled with great elation, Jesus too!

And Jesus paid a visitation,

By His new life germination,

I became a new creation through and through.

Oh, He made me scream and shout, “Hallelujah!”

Oh, He made me cry aloud, “Oh my Lord!”

Oh, He flooded me with joy

‘cause the glory in my spirit

Made me part of God’s own family.

3 So, if you’re craving liberation

From your old life’s degradation

You have found your destination here tonight!

Just turn your heart in preparation

5 Oh, the joy! To have that life and peace!

Darkness and death have ceased

In Thy sweet presence, Lord.

Oh, the joy from fellowship so real!

Even the heav’ns, I feel,

Cannot compare with this.

Lord, I give myself to You completely;

How I praise You for the flow of life!

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,

I love You, I really do!

Ruth 1:16-17

1 Wherever you go, I will go;

Wherever you dwell, I will dwell;

Your people will be my people; and your God

will be my God.

And there will I be buried.

Jehovah do to me and more as well

D D7

If anything but death parts me from you;

G A F# Bm

Jehovah do to me and more as well

G A D – G – D

If anything but death parts me from you.

(Repeat first verse twice)

118

G C

1 God’s desire – Life for man;

D C G

His intention – a building for His home;

C

Shame the devil, victory won.

D C G

Take the Word – soon it will be done.

D

Lord, I call – build me now

C D

With the saints; O Lord, but how?

G D

‘Praying always, in the spirit

C G

With the Word.’ Amen, Lord!

2 Christ as Life – wondrous Person;

All His riches, now our full supply!

For the building, Life’s our need:

Life will build us – the enemy will fly

3 Let us rise – with our weapon;

Give ourselves for the Building of the Lord:

Slay contention, kill opinions:

This our weapon – the Spirit’s living sword.

Em D G

4 There is a way that we can know the Life of Jesus;

C D

And by this Life we’ll be built up as one for his home;

Em D C

Just turn to Him and take His Word by prayer,

G D G

In your spirit daily pray His Word, pray His Word.

130

D Em A D E7 A

1 Father, I know that all my life is portioned out for me,

A7 D G D A D

And changes that are sure to come I do not fear to see;

E7 A-A7 D Em D A7 D

I ask Thee for a present mind intent on pleasing Thee.

2 I ask Thee for a thoughtful love, through constant watching wise,

To meet the glad with joyful smiles, to wipe the weeping eyes

A heart at leisure from itself, to soothe and sympathize.

3 I would not have the restless will that hurries to and fro,

Seeking for some great thing to do or secret thing to know;

I would be treated as a child, and guided where I go.

4 Wherever in the world I am, in whatso’er estate,

I have a fellowship with hearts to keep and cultivate;

A work of lowly love to do for Him on whom I wait.

5 I ask Thee for the daily strength, to none that ask denied,

A mind to blend with outward life while keeping at Thy side;

Content to fill a little space, if Thou be glorified.

6 And if some things I do not ask my cup of blessing be,

I’d have my spirit filled the more with grateful love to Thee,

More careful, not to serve Thee much, but please Thee perfectly.

7 The briers besetting every path, they call for patient care;

There is a cross in every lot, an earnest need for prayer;

A lowly heart that leans on Thee is happy anywhere.

8 In service which Thy will appoints there are no bonds for me;

My inmost heart is taught “the truth” that makes Thy children

“free”

A life of self-renouncing love, a life of liberty.

129

C F

1 There’s a gospel of today

Em F C

That says believe and you’ll be saved – and then

F Em

You can go to heaven and see the pearly gates

F C

And walk the golden streets

C Am – F G

Words like these – fail to treat

C Am – F G C

All the vanity – that is hidden in me.

2 But the gospel is to me

The Triune God within humanity

As the Spirit reaching me to be in me

The one reality

Love untold – Gospel Thee

Never getting old – story told eternally.

3 Left the ninety-nine behind –

You searched until the lost sheep You did find

Laid me on Your shoulders there, You bore me in

Your tender loving care

Rejoicing – You found me

Though a small lost sheep – You gave all to come find me.

4 Sweeping in my deepest parts,

You lit a lamp and searched my inward heart

Sanctifying deep within You shined in me,

Exposed me of my sin

Repenting – now I see

Lord, You’re sprinkling me – with the blood You shed for me.

5 Eagerly awaiting me

That I the slightest turn to Thee would make

Though my life had been a wreck, You ran to me

And fell upon my neck

Kissing me, affectionately

Killed the calf for me – “Let us eat and be merry.”

119

G

If you are empty

C D7

Wondering why you exist,

G

We have the answer now –

C – D

Jesus!

G

If deep within

C D7

You have a hunger and thirst,

G

You can be satisfied –

C – D

Jesus!

G Em

You no longer need to be in bondage

and confusion,

G Em

No more need you be a slave to sin

and self-delusion.

Bm C

Jesus is near, available, ready now,

Em7 A Em7

He’s waiting for you to open and will

A

show you how. Just call –

G Am7 D6 Am

Jesus – darkness is changed to light.

G Am7 D6 Am

Jesus – His peace is out of sight.

G Am7 D6 Am G-Am7-G-Am7

Jesus – You’re gonna be all right now.

120

G Em

1 What is life, what is it for?

Am

What’s life’s meaning,

D

I must hear more.

G Em

Mysterious it seems to be,

Am D7

Deeply hidden here in me.

G Em

Yet I know it’s real, Lord,

Am D7

As I touch you here.

G Em

Grant us revelation,

Am D7 G

Give us ears to hear.

D

For we must know just what life is

C G

We must really know its meaning,

D

We must drop all of our thoughts,

C G

We must drop all of our feelings.

G Em

We want life, we want life,

Am D

What more could we desire?

G Em

Through the knowledge of your life, Lord,

Am D G

Take us deeper and higher.

God of Glory, God of Glory

Do appear to us each day,

Call us out into Your building,

Your desire on earth today.

128

D A7

1 I’ve found the One who’s all to me;

D

He’s become reality.

D7 G Em

Now He’s in my life to stay;

D A D – G – D

He is the truth, the life, the way.

D A7

And Jesus is the One who came

D

Down to earth to bear our shame,

D7 G Em

But that’s not all, He lives in me.

D A D – G – D

Once I was blind, but now I see.

2 Now through His life we have the flow,

Showing us the way to go;

Keeping us in unity,

And this is His recovery.

3 Now Jesus is the Lord of all;

On His name we all must call.

Then our spirits find release,

And thus our hearts have found real peace.

127

D G A7

1 Praise the Lord! The God of Glory

D F#m G A7

Who appeared to Abraham

D G A7

Has appeared to us in spirit

Em A7 D

For His purpose and His plan!

D A7 Bm F#m

God of Glory, God of Glory,

G Em Bm D

Do appear to us today,

D A7 Bm F#m

Saturate and permeate us

G Em A7 D

Till You fully have Your way.

2 Once we were in old Chaldea,

Worshipping the idols there;

But the God of Glory called us,

Save us all from Satan’s snare.

Get out, get out, from Chaldea,

From that evil foreign land.

Come in, come in, to the good land.

Christ, the church, the one new man.

3 With the calling comes the promise

Of the kingdom life on earth.

This becomes our strength and motive

To get out of all the dearth!

Lord, we’re crossing every river –

For this You must call us on,

Till Your kingdom and expression

On this earth are fully come.

4 This is now the highest gospel

To those still in Chaldee’s land –

Leave the fallen situation,

You’ve been chosen for God’s plan.

2 In 1 John 5, it’s plain to see,

If I have the Son I have life in me.

He did come that we might have life,

And have it more abundantly.

In Him was life,

And the life was the light of men,

Only the life of God is life,

God’s life will never end.

You see, “I AM that I AM”

Is the life that has no end,

Any other so-called life

Must always die, my friend.

Life divine for all time,

In it only God we find.

He’s the source and the substance

Of this new life of mine!

3 God flowed out Himself to earth,

Hence we have the Christ-child’s birth.

Then He flowed out once again,

From the pierced side of Him.

Once the rock is so struck,

Out the waters flow,

Now this life is poured out,

And it’s God that we know.

For it is life, life, life,

That is flowing from the throne.

The Lamb of God is seated there

To flow out to His own.

Life is God as a flow,

Reaching all of us to grow,

Firstfruits for the Master’s table,

This is the life we must know.

121

C Am F – G

1 How glorious is Thy church, Oh Lord –

C Am G

No trace of sin in her.

C G F

What myst’ry this: God died as man,

F G C

For, oh, He loves her so!

C Am F – G

Glorious, Glor’ous church,

C Am G

She is Thy dear Bride;

C G C F

She was built from Thine own side

G C

She is the same as Thee.

2 How precious is Thy Body, Lord;

How costly in Thy sight.

I’d ne’er bring anything of self,

For she is out from Thee.

3 How faithful is Thyself, dear Lord –

Eternally the same.

Though man may fail to reach Thy will,

Thou shalt obtain Thy Bride.

4 How subtle is my self, Oh Lord;

Yet I wilt be transformed.

Through Spirit’s work – become a stone

To build up Thine own Bride.

5 How precious is Thy Body, Lord;

How costly in my sight.

I would decrease, and Thee increase

At any cost for her.

126

D A G

1 Until He comes again,

A D

I’ll watch and wait and call on Him

A G

I’ll pray that by His life and power,

A D

I’ll overcome in every hour.

2 Until He comes again,

His blood will cleanse me of my sin

His word will sanctify within,

And make me wholly unto Him.

D A G – A

B: He died to be life to me –

From death I’m free.

D A G – A

S: He rose and as Spirit He

Now lives in me.

D A G – A

B: In splendor and in glory

Like Him I’ll be.

3 Until He comes again,

My soul-life I’ll give up for Him.

No worldly pleasure can compare

To what my Savior has to share.

4 And when He comes again,

All saints built up and one in Him.

His Body, Bride, and Counterpart,

Eternal pleasure of His heart.

S: Lord, gain Your kingdom in me,

I long to be…

B: One with my Savior and King,

Eternally.

S: Oh, what a joy it will be

Your face to see.

(Repeat verse one)

125

D G D

1 Some, these days, would tell us that our Jesus is not food,

G D E7 A7

That we only need to know about Him and do good,

D G D

But we're glad to tell you brothers, it's just not that way---

G D E7 A7 D

Jesus is the bread of life; we eat Him every day.

D7 G

We love the church life, eating,

D

drinking, breathing Jesus.

Bm E7

We love the church life, taking

A

in God's Word.

D D7 G

We love to hear those "O Lord,

D

Amen, Hallelujahs!"

Bm E7

We love the church life, feasting

A7 D

with the Lord.

2 When He fills our inward parts, we're never quite the same,

So much richness we can taste by calling on His name.

"Services" but once a week for us will never do.

Every day we need the fellowship to take us through.

3 If these latter days and situations of the world

Make you feel that round a vicious circle you are swirled,

Then please listen closely to the things we have to say;

It may be that you will find with us a better way.

122

D F#m Bm

1 Life’s too short

G A

To waste a single day

D F#m Bm

The Kingdom’s life

G A

Is closer every day.

G F#m

In the midst of time,

G F#m

The kingdom’s mine

Em Em7 A D – Bm – G – A

Just by calling on Your name each day.

2 The sweetest taste

Of life is deep within.

It’s flowing out

Is primed by calling Him.

At the end of time,

The goal we’ll see

The New Jerusalem we’ll be.

3 Time is quickly

Running out each day.

The Lord will come

And swiftly end this age.

At the end of time,

The goal we’ll see

The millennium is our entry.

123

D A G D

1 In our life, in all we do and say

F#m Em A7 D

There's the tree of life for us to eat each day;

G A

Signifying God as life;

F#m B7

Simple, pure, and free from strife,

Em7 A

To be taken in as nourishment divine.

D G A D

We cannot outgrow our need to eat;

F#m Em A7 D

For this living tree with fruit abundant, sweet

G A

Meets our largest, smallest need,

F#m B7

Even is our life indeed;

Em7 A

We depend upon its life exclusively.

D

How we depend for our living

G

On the life-tree, always giving

D Em A D – D7

God as life to us in each and everything.

G A

We will eat every day

D G

Till this life-tree has a way

D Em A D

To become our life in all we do and say.

2 But there is another tree to see;

Called the tree of knowledge, Satan's subtlety.

If we eat this tree, this lie,

We'll know right and wrong, yet die;

For this tree will feed our criticizing mind.

Thus we need to turn away our heart,.

From the tree of good and evil to depart;

Nevermore entangled there;

Flee unto the life-tree where

Right and wrong does not become our great concern.

Lord, we'll just eat the life-tree

And become so free and happy

There enjoying You as life abundantly.

Thank you, Lord, for the way

To live by Your life today;

Eating of the tree of life forevermore!

124

G D

1 Lord, write Your law, inscribe on our hearts

G

That this law of life would of us be part,

D

We are so hopeless, yet we hope in Him,

G

Preparing a way for Christ to come in.

G D

Lord, in these days I want to set my heart

C D

Ever and only always on You,

C D

That I would not defiled be,

C D G

Keeping my heart so single and pure for Thee.

2 Lord as the fountain You’d want us to drink

Always supplying, it’s my only link

Staying connected to this precious flow,

Planting my roots here that they would grow.

3 You are the Potter, we are the clay,

Form now the church, Your expression today,

In Christ there’s nothing that we may lack,

As now Your body, we’d bring You back.
