BEGINNERS MEETING FORMATHello and welcome to the Growing Up Sober Group of Alcoholics Anonymous my name is ________________ and I am an alcoholic. We would like to open this meeting with a moment of silence followed by the serenity prayer.We are glad you are all here, especially newcomers. Growing Up Sober is a young person’s meeting of alcoholics anonymous, this means we welcome those of all ages who are young at heart with room to grow. We meet here at 8pm every Saturday. The format for our Saturday meetings are as follows:The first Saturday of the month we hold an Open Beginner’s Meeting.The second Saturday of the month we hold an Open Joe and Charlie Big Book Meeting.The third Saturday of the month we hold an Open Topic/Anniversary Meeting.The fourth Saturday of the month we hold an Open Prevent Homicide Traditions Study.The fifth Saturday of the month we hold an Open Meditation Meeting.We will now ask a friend to read the BLUE CARD.We have asked a friend to read the PREAMBLEWe have asked a friend to read HOW IT WORKSWe have asked a friend to read the 12 TRADITIONSThank you to everyone who read. Is there anyone here for their first AA meeting?Are there any visitors or new comers who would like to introduce themselves at this point?Are there any announcements for the good of AA?Here at the Growing Up Sober Group of Alcoholics Anonymous we celebrate milestones in Sobriety by handing out chips. Today we have asked ________________ to hand out the chips.Will anyone with a year or more sobriety please raise your hand at this point to show that the program worksWill all home group members please raise your hand.If you would like to make Growing Up Sober your home group please see me or any of our home group members after the meeting.Today we will be holding our Beginners Meeting.Our Speaker will share for 10 to 15 minutes on their experience, strength and hope, followed by a show of hands. We ask that our beginners share first! Those with less than 3 months are asked to share, then those with less than 6 months, then less than 9 months and finally less than a year. We will open the meeting at the 45 minute mark. In the last five minutes of the hour we will call for a burning desire. If you think you may pick up a drink, hurt yourself or hurt someone else please feel free to share at this time.In accordance with the 7th tradition there are no dues or fees for AA membership, however we do pass the basket to cover expenses: give what you can, but do not give your last we need you more than we need your money.
