Total number of games may not exceed 22. North Division = Chesapeake, Glen Burnie, Meade, North County, Northeast, Old MillSouth Division = Annapolis, Arundel, Broadneck, Severna Park, South River, SouthernNo more than 2 games per week, however you may schedule 3 games in a week twice.County Championship and Awards:An in-season county-champion will be recognized with a plaque. JV and Varsity County Championship games will be played.The top two teams from the regular season as defined by AACPS Athletic Handbook guidelines will play for the County Championship.JV County Championship Criteria: A JV player is eligible to participate as long as they have not entered a regular season varsity contest (excluding tournaments- they may play in varsity tournaments)County Championship Saturday: February 22nd @ South River High School Game Times TBD21 medals per team, County Championship game plaque/Head Coach PlaqueJV team will receive a team plaqueIf tied at the end of regulation, play 4 minute OT’s until a winner is determinedRule Changes: Contests:JV games will only have a 4 minute halftime and should remain on the court.Teams must come dressed to play to visiting school.Mercy Rule: In the 4th quarter if a team goes up by 20 points or more the clock will go into “running” mode and will remain until the conclusion of the game. Clock will only stop on fouls shots and time-outs.JV contests that end in a tie after regulation will play 4 minute OT periods until a winner is determined.Playoffs:Every school is automatically entered into the region tournament unless the MPSSAA office receives written notification to the contrary. Only those schools that win in the Regional quarterfinal round are required to submit the tournament entry form and team photo.All teams will be seeded.Sectional/Regional final will be played at the site with the team that had the higher win percentage at time of seeding. State Quarterfinals will be re-seeded by the MPSSAA and played at the higher seed.
