Led us in rebounds even through much fewer minutes on the court as others. Will be a freshmen at NDSU this fall. Jacob is playing for the Bison baseball team.Chase Marso – 6’3 guard. All State Basketball, All conference, Finalist for Mr. Basketball. Started all year and broke 3 point record for a single game (9 vs. RCC). Chase will be a freshmen at Augustana College this fall. Chase is playing football for the Vikings.Nate Winter – 6’3 post player – Started his entire senior year in the post. Nate is a freshmen at Augustana College and is playing football for the Vikings.Last SeasonCompleted year 18-7 and missed out on the ESD championship and state championship to Pierre. Finished another great February with only one loss to (Pierre) the team that would eventually beat us in the state championship. Beat Sioux Falls Washington in the first round of the playoffs and beat Sioux Falls Lincoln 43-70 in the district championship. Seeded 5th in the State Tournament. Jacob has started almost every game for the last 2 years. Jacob has been near the top of Brandon Valley’s stats in rebounds and scoring both of the last 2 years.Nic Peterson – Senior – 5-10. Started all of last year and was our 2nd leading scorer. Nic’s first step and pull up game is as good as anyone who’s played basketball at Brandon Valley. Don’t let his size or smile fool you. Nic is a great competitor. Free Throw Wall of Fame Member. Nic had another great off-season in the gym. Nic played over 100 open gym games this summer.Kevin Petersen – Senior – 6’6. Played last year when our bigs got into foul trouble and played quite well. Led our JV team in scoring and rebounds. Kevin had a great off-season in the gym and the weight room. Kevin will be the difference in many games for us this season.Devan West – Senior – 6’3. Devan played in every varsity game last year. He is a fun kid to coach because of how tough and competitive he is on the court. To put it simply, Devan is a winner. Played most his minutes as a back up point guard last year. This year he will play a variety of postions. Free Throw Wall of Fame Member. Guys that could start and push for playing timeDominic Nealy – Senior – 6-2. A high energy guy who deserved to play last year. We are greatly looking forward to Dom stepping up and playing a major role on this year’s team. Free Throw Wall of Fame Member. Cole Albertson – Senior – 6-3 – Played a few minutes off the bench from last year. Good shooter who has a chance to fill some minutes left by a solid senior class. Free Throw Wall of Fame Member. Ryan Immeker – Senior – 6-1 – Guard. Ryan is a tremendous athlete. Ryan is an effort guy and speed is not an issue for Ryan. Derek Johnson – Senior – 6-3 – Post. As good as a shooter as we have on our team. Derek is a kid that could fill a huge hole left open when Chase Marso graduated. Free Throw Wall of Fame Member. Jon Heiberger – Senior – 5-11 guard. Jon is an incredibly smart player. Jon is great kid and compete for playing time in his senior year. Free Throw Wall of Fame Member. Ryan Sjoberg – Senior – 5-11 guard. Have ball will shoot. Free Throw Wall of Fame Member. Ryan is a great shooter and everyone in the gym know what’s going to happen when he catches it. One of our most consistent JV scorers last year.Jon Heiberger – Senior – 5-11 guard. Jon has grown into a fine basketball player. An on again and off JV starter last year, Jon is a member of our Free Throw Wall of Fame. Incoming Juniors:Drew Reinschmidt – 6’0 – Junior point guard. Tyler Erck –6’4 - Junior – post. They will have to learn to become more competitive than they were last year. If they come together, play through the high’s the low’s of every season and become more comfortable in uncomfortable situations we have a chance to be a decent team in February and March. ................
